Do you consider acceptable that half of a squad goes to the rooks side and the other half goes bishop. Just so they can annihilate the Knights, and their CO considers this side balancing.
Before the flaming, smart bellybutton remarks and witted statements start flying.
All I want to know is, if anyone else finds this acceptable, normal. etc....

We might ask you the same question........do you find it acceptable behavior? What does the squad get for winning the map? I think it's 25 perks. I got 108 perks yesterday for two sorties in an f4u-1. One might ask you, if you do find their behavior unacceptable, "Why is it unacceptable and how does it negatively affect you?":aok

who really cares if people switch sides,if the squads C.O is cool with it your not going to stop that person and or squad to come over when ever they want to.It's their $15 a month and you cant stop them from doing what they want to do in the game with it.
my 0.2cents :noid

If they want to change countries to get perks.Or to milkrun and get caps they can do that as long as their not breaking the rules it's fine with with me...if you dont like that person on your side.dont talk to him or go to another arena...
stop crying about it :cry

WHO DARES TRY TO MAKE THIS GAME MORE FUN?!?!? z0MG KILL TEH TRADERS AND SPYES!!11!!!ONE!
-
Seems ok to me if that is what they are into. Not sure how you gain an advantage by splitting your squad between two sides though. Just divides your forces.
-
squads have to be able to work together somehow. nothing wrong with it.
-
This is as useless as whining on 200 .
It's a game and I salute any squad or player that plays
to have fun .
-
As an aside, does anyone remember the whining the first times the AK switched sides? It's kind of funny (but mostly pathetic) that people are still whining about this.
-
See Rules #4, #5
-
Too many people have a percieved loyalty to one side, if more people changed sides to help out number imbalances it would help to make the game more fun for all.
I have no problem with them changing sides like you state, would it have been better if they had stayed on the same country and ganged up the knights? It doesn't seem like it would have made any difference either way.
I'm loyal to my squad but if I'm on a different side and they get in my sights I'm going to take the shot, as they will attest to. Does that make me less of a squaddie or just someone who tries to even out the odds to make the game better for everyone?
It makes no sense that they would have changed for the perks from reset since only half went to another country.
-
For those that think that I was whining, please re-read the original post and grow up.
Didn't seem like whining to me, just asking a question.
People like to switch country sides periodically, sometimes so they are on disadvantaged teams to find action quickly...a myriad of reasons really.
As far as a squad going to rook/knit to gang up on bish, I just don't see it making all that much difference. Not to mention is wouldn't be nearly as affective as all staying in one country, then hording against whatever target.
If you think that is a problem though, consider these scenerios.
1. A squad member goes to the enemy team to warn main squad body of CV locations, or when/where mission ups from.
2. A squad memeber goes to enemy team, does a dot wingman on a hated opponent, then relays info to the rest of squad...ie, so 'n so just took off from A24 in an typhie headed northwest.
There isn't any way to stop such activity, and it doesn't even have to be squads. I have a brother who plays, and he has a cell phone as well, one could communicate info like that as well, independent of cross country text.
I think the only thing that prevents it is it just isn't all that much fun and takes a good deal of effort...most just want to up for a couple hours, shoot some bullets, then go do yard work or chores..hehe.

In cases of a legitimate dweeb hunt, this is acceptable...:aok
By legitimate I mean to say that the huntee did or does something that prompts the dweeb hunt.

I think everything is acceptable to get us out of that bloody utarus map!

I think when you mean the mission is to capture TT island and take away GV fun...and as win the war map guys know, capturing the center islands is intragal to winning the map.
In cases of a legitimate dweeb hunt, this is acceptable...
My fiance considers me and everyone who plays this game to be dweebs.
Personally I won't allow this activity in my squad. I don't care if guys go play for another country or do their own thing for a spell. Won't allow cross country communication of intell or dweeb hunting though (at least in so much as I would know about it) Though I have been tempted in dweeb hunts cause some guys you know, just got it coming.
I think everything is acceptable to get us out of that bloody utarus map!
I'll second that, that map is about to make me puke, back n forth, back n forth...seems to be a stalemate in orange. Half my squad went to blue last night just cause they couldn't stand looking at it anymore.

First ...
You would have to prove that that was their intent.
Second ...
I don't think you have the proof ... better yet ... I know you don't have proof.
Third ...
What would be the benefit of splitting to Rook and Bish to hit JUST Knights ?
If their real intent was to smash Knights, then logic would lean towards them all remaining together.
If they did split, then logic would lean towards them wanting to fight each other which means that they both (on different sides) were not all smashing Knights.
This has got to be a "I got an AK hair across my arse whine".
I was on the other night when AKs split to balance numbers. I flew with AKDogg and his group, and we attacked AKDG and his group ... was much fun until I had to log.
You speak of ethics and loyalty ... well I have been flying now for over 5+ years and have had many encounters AGAINST the AKs and many encounters WITH the AKs, and there is no other squad that comes to mind that takes to heart fair gameplay and ethics more than them.
If AKs split countries ... you can rest assured that they will not cross the line of fair gameplay. They are there for the fight and rest assured they will give you a fight you won't soon forget.
AKs don't need to spy/cheat to get the job done ... they have been around too long and know this game inside and out to have to rely on such tactis.

i switch sides now and then. there are alot of great folks on the other side and 99.9% of em welcome you. i do move back if a squaddie logs on but thats just my preferance. been here a long time and i only have seen just several instances that irk me and those instances involved a small number o folks who switch just to warn of cv locations or missions etc....
my opion is i find nothing wrong with half a squad switching. sounds like they were adapting to an eny situation or maby just trying to find new ways to have fun.
my 2 cents

lol. It's all part of the way things work. HT makes a change for 'side balancing'. Sooner or later, somebody finds a way around it so they can continue playing the game the way they want to. In this case, a squad divides, half goes to another country, then they all attach the 3rd country. An amusing work around. Eventually, HT will make another change, then players will adjust and find a way around that too.

Not's right. Disagree or agree, Nexus, the AK's are simply trying to help make the MA's work. I would note, though, that they would probably have stayed on one country, and flown together as one squad(Which i'm sure they would much rather do) If the arena's had never split. Say that one MA was a slum all you want, We've got multiple slums now. The EW and MW get milkrunned' by squads looking for scores, and we have unbalance in the LW's. If the AK's are trying to balance, then so be it.

NOT(large letters so you can understand) to be rude, but my understanding of this thread is that you are whining because someone is NOT playing the way YOU do. Not everyone plays the same way. Some like to take bases, some furball, some switch sides for balance, some have a loyalty to one side or the other. Is any of that right or wrong, who cares, pay your $15 a month and play the way you want, and let others do the same. :aok

First off, The AK's did go on 2 different country's, But here is the kicker. Half our squad in the beginning was fighting Rolling thunders squad which was my Half on rooks side. The 2nd half was Bish fighting Rooks . After my first flight up against the Rolling Thunders, I then took my half of the squad to fight the other half (Rook/Bish Front). I will say this that this flame war started before I even got to start my engine for first flight. So all your talk about us fighting Knights on 2 different fronts is False!
We used this as a training for us AK's to learn eachothers moves without us knowing who it was. Hense what we got out of it was learning who it was just by there style of flying making us understand when we are on the same side to Kick A_S.
Now for U Rolling Thunder squad, U guys need relax. Like it was stated here many times, We don't need to cheat as u call it to take bases. We get the job done when we want, how we want without being on 2 different countries.
Now if U want to continue this War between us here, U will be squelching me here to since u decided to bring it public on here. Otherwise lets play nice, Shake hands and go kill something.

Mars, I respect you as a player and would never have but good words for you! I did throw a BK taunt in there as there was some of that going on in days gone by. Most of the BK's that I have come to know are, in my opinion, great opponents and respected parts of the community! There are a few, (or at least they were BK's) though, as in any squad that would stink up an entire half of an arena! I will be more specific next time as to avoid getting mud on folks like yourself!

Here's how I "interpret" your question. Instead of coming out and stating how YOU feel....you tiptoe around the issue.....given just how much you've been "skuzzified" in this thread you obviously have some issues.
As a former AK I can tell you 1st hand that they are a fine bunch...and top to bottom as "talented" as any squad in the game. They have certainly done more for longer then any other squad (IMO) to try and balance sides. I think the majority of the "opinions" here support that. Regardless of what your "intentions" were/are the end result is a negative reflection on both you and your squad....not the AK's.

Yes, I find this acceptable. It's not uncommon for me to fly on another country and actually fight against my squaddies (its hella fun). We also on one occasion had 4 of us on in MW where there was a giant bish horde rolling up bases on both sides of the map so 2 of us went nit and 2 rook to try and hold them off. Also, in a bit of strange irony I recall a night many moons ago (maybe even back in ah1) where I was defending a base that was being attacked by 2 squads, 1 from each of the other countries working together and one of the was the Rolling Thunders. Great fun was had by all.

I switch sides several times a week. I simply pick the chess piece with the least in numbers and then head for the biggest enemy dar bar. I have been called all the expected names... traitor, spy, team jumping dweeb... blah blah blah *shrug*

it is acceptable if done for the right reasons. these reasons would include fun factor and arena balance.
to me an unacceptable reason would be to try to exploit the 3 team in a way to help the team you are flying for.

When one of my squaddies wants to go to another country, we have him withdraw from the squad. Why? I don't like how it would seem to have a squadmate on a different country. Yes, he could still be sending information, but we don't.
Not to mention having to withdraw is a big pain, so it doesn't happen much.

The action taken by the AK's was unacceptable and many players recognized it.
Aces High maintained an "unwritten rule of fair play by the players." This has changed quite a bit over the past 2-3 years. AK's action is part of this new free-for-all/anything goes attitude on the game.
By the way, if Side Balancing was the real intent, then AK's would be on the Knights country most of the time.
Think about it.

You're wrong and if you have been here long enough, you'd know that the AKs have routinely switched countries to help with the side balance issues. They have been one of the few squadrons that have done it, unlike some of the other larger squadrons.

funny, AK's are one of the few squads which can actually can be respected. Fortunately it is a game and getting all upset because a group wants to spend time with another group, or even and individual wants to spend time with another team, is just insane. taking it even further and saying they are breaking some kind of rule is stranger.

And there you have it folks - the very good reason why most OTHER online flight sims limit posting to players with a valid account, and tie the forum ID to their account.
(Just doing my share to try to make sure that this thread get's EVERYTHING in it.)

You mean not having more anonymity in an already anonymous game?
Sounds like a good idea.
However.........
I could see where it would make a shades boi "waaaaaaaaaaaaah".
Kinda like what your doing now.
INteresting :rofl :rofl :rofl

Why have the AK's come under fire? What have they done that hasn't been done? Some of you guys just love to have the same whinefest over and over again.

You're also a shades who has been "calling the AK's cheats" too right? Crawl back into your hole, and wait for another topic to pop up, and then you can change your name again. Whining maggots.

Sounds like Mr. Masherbaum has some issues.
No one here accused AK's of cheating. The discussion is how the game has changed over the years.
I take offense to your language in your message and have taken the appropriate action.

You do that. I EMPLORE you too. I did not cuss, nor swear. I am merely sick and tired of some who find it necessary to "improve their self esteem" by changing their BBS ID's.
BTW, I know MANY AK's, and am "more informed than you". So, my question to you is this, Who "knows more on the AK subject"? :aok Shadesboi's, the weak and disgruntled of AH

Although sometimes a male, Crybaby is usually a female, and often a close ally of Innocence Abused. When teased or attacked Crybaby will pitch a loud public temper tantrum, holding her breath and kicking her feet. If that defense fails she will run to Nanny for comfort.
Strangely fitting ehhh?

They have been accused of it for a while now. I must have struck a nerve. This discussion is nothing but a WHINE thread. Anyone who thinks otherwise, really should utilize the "search button" that HTC has provided in the BBS.

You ran home and told your mom that someone called you a whiner? Did she kiss you on the cheek and tell you that mommy will make everything alright?
You're just another example of why Ghastly's suggestion should be implemented.
