Title: Comp beeps

ive noticed that occasionally my pc would lock up..and stay locked up until u click twice (first click mouse stops working,second click BEEEEEEP!!)

from reading in another thread it could be BIOS warning me of something?

P.S- This pc has shown that it is a "Problem Child" Class of Pc

but im stuck with what i got,for a while

What kind of computer?  What O/S?  What type of mouse (USB?  PS2?)

Its a Compaq Presario
OS:Win XP Home SP2
PS2 Mouse

Could be any one of a number of things.

My first guess would be overheating. Take the cover off the machine and clear out all the dust (if you've never done this you'll be horrified by how much of the stuff there is in there).

Then, with the cover still off, start your machine up and check all the fans are turning. If any of them don't turn, you are almost certainly suffering from overheating problems.

also ive been having minor issues with the HD on this pc as well,but its not a big problem
but the beeping stopped
