Title: Full night time

How about periods of total darkness, just town and field lights and whatever else would look good. Not all bombing missions took place at 2 in the afternoon. Controllable cockpit lighting etc.
Much better than Dusk in my opinion.

Question,

Are you going to have someone run along the flight line to light all those landing pots, so you can land those 3 and 5 kill missions?

If HTC includes landing lights on the fields then fine.  Otherwise, no way.

All it would end up is a little bit of sneaking around. It would simply add to the dawn/dusk poor vis making even more of the playtime worse.

As soon as dar flashes black out conditions begin.
How about hard calibration mode for buffs?
Since no bombers just held the y key down for 5 seconds.

They had full night at one time in AH.  It was changed to what we now have.  I doubt that night will ever be restored. The night effect was not a good one, because of the day glow color of the icons you could see nme aircraft.  It was very easy because of the ever present full moon to land, take off, bomb and hit targets.

How hard can runway lights and lamps around a field be? Or windows lights from town buildings.  The moon doesn't always have to be showing.
Add an NDB to get you back to your own field...

Making lights is no simple tasks. You need at least 3 LOD's to prevent frame rate loss. And you need a considerable glow that won't be too bright yet is still visible. Plus, how will you activate it or de-activate it? The only way right now is by blowing up the active object to reveal the dead shape (In this case, the dead shape would mean "Lights On"). Unless HTC creates something new to include a lighting feature in the "Arena Setup", this won't be happening.

it's never going to happen at one point in time it was full night time people were crying about it saying they could not see what they were bombing or say they can not see gv's or fighters.

if you guys like want night time back tell the crybabies to STFU

They had night-time in the backup  MA before they added the new arenas.  I think they also had a snow map there too.  But it was to hard to see anything, but the tracers and indicator lights looked really cool.    :p

I would love a full night cyle. I think it would make the game more interesting.  lighting wouldnt matter to me..im sure there is a way to "outline" the field untill proper lighting can be made.  As far as not being able to see fighters/gvs..thats the whole point of a night attack:)  How any1 could cry about that i have no idea..sounds almost as bad as the guy who whines when my p40e of death wont come down to do battle with his sides 100 lalas on the deck

true, at least 60%.  i'm split on the subject.  On one hand I can remember some great NOE missions with mossies and spitfires, weaving above the treetops and hills.  On the other hand trying to find bombers in the dark (or anybody else) was almost impossible, icons or no icons

All you have to do is turn up your gama settings to 1.6.

So, in summary:

1) Night made almost the entire arena log off en masse

2) Night is only for NOE milkrunners that want to take bases unmolested

3) Night is only enjoyed by those that "cheat" by upping gamma to see better.


Yeah... Looks like a real winner to me :rofl :rofl

These days night-time is too easy. I host it at times in my arenas in H2H, and there are no problems seeing anyone. We all fight normally, just the occasional whine because they didn't see someone behind them.
