Post by: AquaShrimp on March 10, 2007, 05:33:58 PM: The Thunderbirds is mostly just formation flying at 300-400mph. The F-16 demo teams are much more exciting to watch. Same with the Blue Angels. I saw them last year at Thunder Over Louisville. The F-18 Super Hornet demo is more exciting to watch.

The formation flying is amazing when you remember those guys are sometimes only 18 inches apart from each other at 400MPH. Both types of flying really show what the planes and pilots are capable of. They more or less go hand in hand with each other.
