what happen to rockets that is launch dead vertically into the air?

does it run out of fuel and drop?
does it keep going because HTC never progammed it?
 or what....

Well in the real world they go up and come down. In this game all weapons have a "lifespan" -- a time frame for how long the game needs to keep tracking it before it decides "okay this is a waste of time, terminating round here".

So you fire it straight up and I think it'll probably time out before it hits the ground. That's my guess. Now for guns it's shorter, but bombs and rockets most likely have a long enough "lifespan" that in most (almost all??) circumstances they'll hit the ground somewhere.

Due to the poor grammatical structure of your post, I have no idea on where to begin.

i think hes asking this

If u shoot a rocket straight up in the air does
A)it keeps going up till *poof*
B)it eventually comes back to earth

i think ill have to test that:aok

Alright Karaya,

"What happens to rockets when they are launched 90 degrees vertical from from ground?  Do they run out of fuel and fall back to earth or do they just keep going because HTC never programmed them to fall back to ground?"

Hope that helped.

already done.

if shot up 90 degrees :
1.) YOU WILL NEVER FIND IT
2.) WHO CARES?

Hi,

just yesterday i found that the rockets of the 190F simply seems to dissapear after a rather short while.

I was shooting onto a big target from rather long range(just for fun), the impact should have happen only a sec after the rockettrail dissapeared, but nothing did happen at all(I did repeat this 3 times).

Edit: I just made another test, but i cant confirm that the rockets dissapear, like they did yesterday. Maybe it was a buggy target, thather than dissapearing rockets(something like the one immortal building on the bases).

And Spikes, I DID CARE and Masherbrum, i think its not his gramatic that is poor, cause the others dont had problems to understand!

Greetings,

Knegel

Chances are the rockets fell below the target. After the rocket trail ends, they still continue flight, falling toward the ground.

Hi again,

at least the FW190F rockets work like they should. I made a low level flight to the middle of my base(offline), there i zoomed vertical up and shot all my 12 rockets. Afterward i did search the area for impacts and found some of them around the base.
Since this was offline there cant be other impatcs than from my rockets.

Yesterday, online, the rockets simply dissapeared, without to show a impact caldera.

Greetings,

Knegel

Personally I think this is an in interesting question.

For Masherbrum :

Describe the results of an airborne rocket being fired orthagonally normal to the Earths' surface with respect to F = MA.

Please include relavent axioms and proofs, oh and show your work, no credit given without the associated work.

:rofl

For the rest of us  :O

While I was in a flat spin over a base I was attacking yesterday I was wondering what would happen and what it would look like to those flying near me if I had wings loaded with rockets and I shot them off in rapid succession as I was gliding over the base.  :O

Bet peeps would get a pretty good laugh over it. Probably wouldnt do a darn thing other than a visual effect.

Just a funny thought I had as I was plunging to my death  :rofl

We should be able to track rockets in the Film Viewer right? (I'm not sure if we can slow down the time)
I tracked the rounds from the Big Ones on the cruiser with it before :)

They would have launched straight down. There's a "bug" (modeling flaw?) where rockets fire along the motion of your aircraft, regardless of the orientation of said aircraft. I never liked that.

Yes, but it adds the ability to stack bugs. :D Take a carrier plane with rockets up on a CV, lower the hook, set salvo, and throttle up enough that you would generally start slowly backing up on the CV. The hook takes and throws you back across the carrier. If you fire your rockets at the same time, they'll do a "flower" effect. Suppose it would make good AA fire. :rofl
