I'm sad to say that PaulB died of bone cancer...this actually occurred last June...his son just logged in to let us know...

He was a super guy from Portugal with a heavy accent and over 3 years never learned to type on anything but on country channel....

I was asked to post on here because he knew other Portugese players on the game...

PaulB.  Clear skies and lots of slow planes to chase.

Plans are in the works for a memorial flight; hope you all will help us pay respects to his memory by planeing up for it.

I remember him well.   I wondered why he wasn't on for a while.    My thoughts, prayers and condolances go out to PaulB's family, friends, BoP's and all that flew with him.

I considered PaulB my friend :(   I will miss his laugh most of all.  I swear I can't remember a day ever that we were both playing and he wasn't laughing about something on squad channel.  He was always in the best mood and didn't tell us he was sick.  One thing he did do was cheer everyone up with his awesome personality.  You couldn't help but like him.

I agree with you USranger...Paulb was always chuckling about something...and he never let on he was sick...

i reviewed the score pages and it is sad to see his flights fall off in June and end after July...but he did play AH til the end it appears and that says something about this game and the people in it:aok   for some reason that made me smile.

Since his favorite ride was a panzer...BoPs will host a memorial flight that will be all gvs...this will occur next monday at 9pm eastern in which ever LW arena has the fewest players..

It is truely a great loss!   PaulB may you soar high in the heavens.  I too will miss that laugh but also his accent.  He will be truely missed.

PS.. I remember several squad nights long long ago when we would all be upping for a mission only to be flying thre and see one of our squaddies icons crawling toward the target in a GV.  Of course we all knew who that was. ROFLOL

BoPs are planning something special for him Monday night at 9 pm EST.  We invite all to join us for this occasion.  Though many of you didn't know him, I can tell you this guy was worth taking a half hour or so to honor him.  Please, if you are free, attend our little goodbye ceremony.  Thx all.

Birds of Prey will host a memorial service for PaulB in special events at 9pm est monday (tomorrow)...all welcome to particiapte or observe...it will be a GV salute so that is why we are doing it in special events...barring any conflict...we will also do a flight in LW later

SEA will be available for this memorial tonight at 6pm PST / 9pm EST

The Racers typically use the arena at this time to practice, however they know you all will be coming in.  Understand that Everyone does not participate in these forums, and my not know what is going on, be patient with those who do not.
