Title: VGA Gforce 256 32 RAM , Bad FPS
Post by: garrido on October 22, 2001, 04:36:00 AM
Hi friend's:

I´´ve got a Pentium 3 -550 Mhz, an AGP 2x mainboard, 256 RAM, Seagate 4 Gb HD and a Guillemot GForce 256 Videocard.

With 1.07 version i had about 50 FPS in combat and 35 FPS in Taking off. I was using Guillemot drivers and Directx 7.0 Spa.

When i changed to 1.08, Directx 8.0spa and Nvidia Detonator 21.83, FPS has downed enormous. Now, FPS is 18 in take off, 20-25 in normal flight and about 12 in combat (specially if clouds or smoke are show).

Cluter is off.
Alt + F2 (before was Alt+F1)
Video setup AH: Enable Mip: (NO checked). Disable Palettized Textures: (checked).
Video Resl: 1024x768.
Color Depth: 32 Bits.
Max Frame Rate: Unlimited.

How can i configure my Gforce with the lastest Detonator to obtain better FPS?

THX

Check mipmapping, and if still low fps try 16bit colour

Saludos,

I think Dx8.0a is the best DirectX release so far. Could someone confirm or deny this, pls?

Cheers,

Pepe

Hello Friend's

I have made the received suggestions and there has been no FPS improvement, I believe that it is the configuration of the VGA. Somebody can help me to form it? That drivers I need?

Thanks

When i installed 21.83's they turned on FSAA on me, check to make sure FSAA is off, and also try setting to 16 bit colour
