IMHO this guy has the CORRECT interpretation of what JURY DUTY is all about!

yep.. he is correct..  The jury is the supreme power in the court.   The "instructions" to the jury should only be to what the defendant is charged with and the options for the jury to decide...

Everything else can be ignored.   A jury can not only determine if the defendant is guilty of the charge but even if there is a crime at all.

If you have this information, why would you want OUT of jury duty?

I have yet to go to jury duty.  I got called up towards the end of last summer.  I wrote in their electronic form that I would go, provided what ever it was we were there for went no longer then a week (I had to leave for school at the end of a week).  I was hoping to go, to at least see what happens, but they wrote back that I was excused from jury duty.  I was a little disappointed.
