Got my painting done on the Harley Deuce and got pretty much everything repaired. Also got rid of all the "I`m A Poster Child For HD" crap. :)

Thanks. Yea, I broke down and painted it myself so I could either screw it up or get what I wanted.
I still have a couple of weeks before I can rub it down and polish it, but I`m pretty satisfied with it......................and.. .......the sun is shining and I`m ready to ride. :)

Looks good :aok how did the DTY painting go? Looks like you used metalflake..
-
That is some huge flake. Not the easiest to squirt, congratulations looks good.

Thanks gents. I used House Of Kolor F65 Mini Fireball flakes.
-
Harleys aren't my thing at all, but that's a nice one Jackal.
-
Thank you sir.

And I thought the after pic would be a Jap bike :)
Seriously....nice work!

You need to slap in a bigger motor, your carbon foot print insnt big enough.

Thinking on the next project. Maybe a Boss Hawg type scoot. :aok
Thanks rpm.

No matter how much you pimp up a Harley you are still stuck with one remaining situation. It's still a Harley. :(
:p
Nice job on the paint there!
-
Nice job. Much cleaner looking bike, and I agree with the skill in applying the heavy flake.
I'm more a bolt on the "farkle" kind of rider. Must be functional, but still try to look nice.
Also, I prefer Victory to Harley, but that's mostly from an engineering standpoint.

One day I'll get pulled over about the plate.... not correct for Colorado, but so far, so good. Plus it shows off that meaty back tire.
MBW LED turn signals, and lot's of Kuryken replacements for pegs and grips.
-
Nice bikes both. I'd hate to have to keep all that chrome clean though!
Tedrbr: I'm not very familiar with Victory as they don't seemt to sell them down here. What is it about the engineering that you prefer?
I like V-twins mtself but I prefer something sportier :)

It's more or less stock right now but I'll be changing the exhaust and having the fuelling tweaked in the near future. Race glass for track days and suspension work are also on the cards.

Nice scoot jackal, who did the work on your seat?
-
Honestly the second picture is too dark, contrasty and shaded to see the painted areas. I can’t even really tell what color it is. I don’t know how you guys are seeing more?

Bar Enterprises out of Sunland Cali.

Concho, here is a little better pic of the seat.
There is a pretty long waiting list, 6-8 weeks, to get a seat stitched up by them , but I think it is worth the wait. If you can dream it up, they will stitch it.

Victory is quietly gaining ground.
Fuel injection standard, not an add-on option. Six speed (overdrive) tranny. 100 cu in motor. Oil/air cooled motor. Simple V-twin design. Hammer and Vegas chassis are not as good performers as the early Victory designs were, but the new designs look a whole lot better than those early models too.
New Vegas Jackpot, and other models, have picked up the motor, tranny, 250mm rear tire, and other items from Hammer, but still prefer having a TACH on the bike (which Hammer has), and wider front tire of Hammer won't follow road grooves like skinny one the Jackpot, and many other cruisers, have.
Handles very well. Very easy to maintain. Not riding what everybloodybody else is riding. Even with that fat rear tire, once moving, it handles well, if just a bit heavier in counter-steering. "The OTHER American motorcycle company" for where that means something. Turns heads, and the bike and add-ons don't cost as much, typically, as "Official Bar and Shield" would have.
Then, I don't look "typical"either. No leathers. No shorty helmet. No tats. I switched to Cordura years ago, and quit carrying separate rain gear. If I wear a lid at all, it's full or 3/4. And usually a slate grey (I will never, never, never wear a black helmet ever again....). Otherwise, why bother?
The chrome?....Yeah, that takes some detailing a couple times a year.
As to sporty, I prefer Sport-Tourers to Sport. Honda ST1300 is now gone from stable as the long distance and foul weather rig, so I can get the new Connie - Kawasaki C-14 Concours when it's available this summer.
Nice Aprilla. RSV? I just can't do true Sportbikes any more. Nekkid street bikes I can still ride, all about the ergonomics. Downhill slide of late 30's, so the riding position of a Sport for 300 to 500 miles don't work no more. Tuono 1000R, or maybe a Monster, possibly. But like my Sport Tourers.

Nice bikes both of ya's
I dont know much about victory's tedrbr. but you have me looking now.
I remember a few years ago a couple of upstart bike company's in the US but they seem to have gone south (as in no longer with us) think they were star and titan but not sure
I used to have a harley dyna widglide. i loved that bike but hated the repair bills:furious
Now i have a honda shadow/aero. only a 1100 but its just for a short time.
My buddy who I bought it from got himself a used electra glide <06>
he had it 1 month already made 1 payment and the other day he heard a tappin noise...long story short it threw a bearing ruined the motor, thank god he bought extended warrenty. The upside is he is getting a brand new engine and IF they are out of 88's it will be a upgrade to a 96' ( all under warrenty with a $50 deductable). Downside, he hasent had it to ride for 1.5 weeks and it wont be done till......well until harley warranty ships it and they install it. ANYONE who has dealt with harley warranty atleast in the DFW area will tell ya its a drawn out pain in the arse situation.
Im WAAAY over the prestige of " I got a harley" with all the BS that goes with it.
Im been looking at alternatives and by looking at your victory I might have found it. Any info you might be able to shoot me my email is in my sig
Ride safe keep the sunny side up and the rubber side down
