Title: Confused about points..
Post by: Sincraft on March 17, 2007, 01:11:42 AM
I'm sure this is a common question , as noted when I did a search prior to posting.

However two quick questions.

1. Clipboard shows I have 57.52 points as a bomber, yet couldn't pick an ar234 that was 57 points??

2. I had alot of points then died in a pocket rocket on a head on DOH.  Got back up to around 55+ points then upon return from a sorte with a f4f that I took off from the carrier (lost) and had to land because of on land - I noticed I only had about 26 points?
A: why?
B: If as I suspect landing on the land instead of the carrier is the cause, is it the loss of the carrier that automatically kills you or, is it the landing on the ground that causes this.  I know this is a double edge question that 'should' result in teh same answer but there is always that idea that maybe the cv will pop back up down a bit and I could possibly land on it retrieving my points?

Thanks.

you don't have to land on the SAME carrier, field, etc that you took off from.

All that matters is that you get a successful landing.

It could be at a port, v-base, airfield, or carrier.

Just gota be on concrete.

Ditch, death, or capture you will lose the perks.  (f4f doesn't cost perks btw)

(can you land at strat fields?  I have not tried that in years so I forget)

re: the AR234 you have to pay those perks PER plane, and I am suspecting you had the FORMATIONS ENABLED box checked.  So you would have needed 181 perks (or so) to take off 3 AR234's.  You prob. could have unchecked the box and just launched a single.

If you got a successful landing anywhere, you would not have lost any fighter perks on the F4 sortie. The perks aren't related or tied to any particular field.

For the buffs, I suspect Lute is correct with the formation thing.

I never knew there was an option to fly the heavies as singles. Where's the Formations Enabled box; The hangar, or in the Options somewhere?

An F4F does not have a perk cost ... it's a perk farmer !!!

Between knowing that you had 55+ perks and landing the F4F and seeing that you only had 26 perks ... you lost the difference in between.

You are most likely forgetting that you probably upped a perk plane somewhere in between ... like maybe an F4U-C ... thinking it was an F4U-D and lost it ... seeing as you were flying off a CV.

In the hanger ... under the list of aircrafts.

Thanks. I'd never noticed that before.
