I killed a bike for the headpost bearings and stole the potentiometer from a old thrustmaster stick . i use a WW1 biplane style of rotation /bar which works fine for me . its really easy to rest a heel on the base and hold rudder angle for spiral climbs ect .

They stay nice and solid in place on carpet .

My Stick is a mad catz panther which allows for the gameport ped hook up and then usb ports into my pc .
i Did do a earlier setup using a saitec stick by jumping into the rudder wires and added a game port plug ..... but you can also use a second joystick and set up an axis from that to work as a rudder . it all depends on how creative you want to be .... you can also use Race wheel peddles to .
you will need to go on a schematic hunt if you go this route ... or ohm/ trace it our manually .
if the ch controller board is like the usb TM board then you should be able to add /wire in the extra axis's you need .
Keep you eye out in second hand stores..... I found 2 sets of peds and a pile of sticks so far from them .
"Homeboy" may have a good set of schematics for the ch stuff .
