Haven't been attending FSO due to getting up early on Sat. Was up past my bed time this Friday and decided to jump in anyway 10 mins before launch time.
Got slapped with a 40 min DL. Dial-up bites.
I DLed AHITALY_1 when I factory restored my rig.
Is there a newer ver. then what's on the HT DL pages? Or is mine corrupt due to Download Excelerator?
Will try to let it auto DL while it's up- should do the trick either way, but was courious.

We try our hardest to make sure that the Unforgiven are kept out of the SEA till after the Fields are closed for good:rofl .. Cant seem to get rid of that REP0MAN guy though:rofl :rofl :rofl
All kidding aside, sorry about the 40 minute download... :mad:
When I had dialup I made sure I was in the SEA at least an hour and a half prior to launch, especially with a map I had never been in. With cable the D/L times are short and sweet.

Dunno why, we seem to be sending a lot of the C Hawks off for early baths.

Looked to be fairly even this round.
Both squads did well it the W/L column.
Although the CHAWKS werent guilty of any Friendly Fire incidences as some who will not be named.:lol :lol :lol

Unless I'm reading somthing wrong, my question is still not answered. "Sorry about the 40 min DL" is not diffenitive enough when it bounces off my scysofrenia(probable typo).
If Download Excelerator corrupted the map then I need to re-DL any SEA map I haven't flown on-line. The only time I can attend is when I'm already up that late for other reasons- last min dission.
If the map was not the same as the one on the DL site then it would have been prudent to mention it for those on dial up- which yall usualy do, but I found no mention of it this time.

As far as I know it is the same map.
From what I'm reading, it seems as though you had to to a re-install of the game? ("factory restored my rig" )
If this is correct and you did not or could not rename the original HTC folder ( this allows you to transfer those settings/skins/terrains/sounds etc...) before , you would have do download all the maps at some point either in game of offline.
There have been a couple of times I've had to do this and believe me it is a time saver to be able to just drag and drop. That is what I do when I have an issue that I cant seem to fix.
AcesHigh is not a perfect game, I dont know of any that are. Mine has had glitches from time to time that are just.... unexplainable.

Yes 4XTCH, that does answer my question. I can't take for granted that any map I DLed from the HTC site will work due to Dounload Eccelerator.
As for the factory restore, this PC was used for AH2 and related stuff only. I intended to totaly remove all traces ot AH2 and links to the community as it was becoming an all comsuming obsession. I figured it would take me weeks of spare time to rebuild all the way with DLing, views, settings and skins even if I chose to return.
Then I took it with me to a motel the company put me up in during a shutdown. It had high speed and like any addict that has it droped in his lap- I did the perdictable thing.

Sorry, RSLQK... the map was updated a ways back. There had been another Italy FSO (Malta?) run since then, and everyone was notified then.
Not to shift blame, but frequently the maps get updated... sometimes Skuzzy does it and even we (the CMs) don't find out about it until it's too late. Everybody should be aware that this is always possible, and that's another reason we urge people to log in early. The map is always up at least 2 hours before gametime... at least log in to see if everything's in order.
Always assume that you need to double check.
