I haven't seen you self destruct on 200 like many others; since the reporting is entirely player driven, abuse of the system is possible. If that is the case, and you haven't earned it, talk to HT before you split. I know another player who was the target of such an episode, and HTC sorted it out for her.

I hope you get it all worked out Twinboom. I personally don't recall you being a regular on the CH 200 potty mouth list(I join that list now and then).

Dang skipper I'm at a loss.So I guess a guy can't even say nuthin on the chat thingy w/o someone turning a person in.I've never seen you really hurt anyone so bad that they threatened to turn you in.matter of fact,most of the time,you and the person who were having words,

I know we've butted heads a few times as "enemies" but I have always respected you as a fellow AH'er and virtual pilot despite the crap we have given each other over text.
Chat can get tiresome but just let it wash over you or ignore it. You don't come here to back-fill the chip on someone's shoulder. Don't feel you have to!

Exactly thats why CH200 shouldnt even be there, When ever you have a mutiplayer game that allows sides to converse on a select channel your going to get the flaming and name calling.
I never tune to 200 for that reason and who knows why HT allows this channel period.

My squad does not "abuse" chat report...though it was my understanding that one time when i was on and being fed vulgarities on ch 200...as well as private vox we did get twinboom reported...this was several months ago...
after being accused of "abusing" chat report by twinboom and storch i called dale or skuzzy and asked how the system works and to make sure the Birds of Prey were not using their numbers in an unfair manner. From my conversations with them I fully understand how the system could be abused...and i spoke with my squaddies so as to avoid any perception of doing so...
I was also told in no uncertain terms that if a squad was felt to be abusing the system after review of the logs...that THE WHOLE SQUAD would lose vox privileges for periods of time....
The bottom line is if you report someone (establishing a log) of poor conduct...the log better damn well back you up...I personally have a very low tolerance of idiots who insist on abusing ch 200 or treating it like a personal chat room to bully and insult people...i wish moderators were on more to shut down these guys BEFORE a report gets sent...i also wish you would have to "accept" private vox and p.m.'s across countries to avoid "secret" harrassment.
That being said...it would be a shame if Twinboom or others like him leave the game over this...I know he is an important person/friend to many in the community and hope he reconsiders...I know he doesn't care for me...but time has a way of sorting those things out...:(

I assume HT & Co. can pull text logs from that moment in time and make the final decision--I was under the impression that the 'report' thing just gave them a time/date flag to hunt for?

Thats what i thought bj229...but it turns out that if enough people chat report you around the same time, there is some automatic feature to it...hence the ability to abuse it....
But lets say a group of pilots did it to me...then the next day i would call HTC and ask them to review the issue..if i was wronged then they would reinstate my privileges...and my understanding is that the "wrath" of hitech would come down on those who "falsely" reported me...:t

Exactly. My favorite is those that DO report other's, are usually MORE VULGAR, and do a damn good job of deflecting attention off of themselves.
It just happened to me, and they were even "gloating". What made it funnier is that 1/2 of them logged off right after. Nothing like reporting an "unjust person" and then "acting even worse than the person you reported."
Only people I report are the racists, bigots, and foul mouthed tards (one or two words, I can live with, but some folks cuss excessively). Anything else, is trying to "inject a holier than thou" or "pretentious" attitude. I hear more cussing on vox, than text, and just laugh at this fact.
Also, I've explained in DETAIL to folks what happened, and they are now aware, and laughing just as much as myself because it was petty. But then again, I'm not a petty person, so I just laugh it off.

I still keep on wondering why there is a thing like chan 200 :rolleyes:
I hardly ever tune it, talking with country mates is quite enough. Doing some occasional private chat with a polite enemy also works fine.
What is the chan 200 good for? Anything that could not be done here at the bbs after the fight?

By reading the replies i guess that people have been reporting you to get you muted?
I had a case where a certain little squeaker squad (i wont mention names) kept abusing it to get me muted after i killed them.
I reported it to HTC and i know that they take it very seriously. It may be a coincidence but i never saw the main culprit online again under that handle.

After finding out how TB got bounced,I'm even more aggravated.If we must have a channel 200,at least have the moderators be more consistent.I'm going to log on for my friendly Sunday night flight,and I can guarantee you if I tune to 200...I usually don't..that I will be greeted by the same old cesspool of of ego damaged twits using their sewers to bash someone that just dispatched them.Politics,religion,sex,drugs and on and on it goes,nothing is safe from the dregs that make 200 the channel of foul,obscene,insult laden tripe,with a few
thrown in by the more amiable players.

If the system got TB "sanctioned" then I can tell you with 99.98% certainty its being abused. I cant EVER recall TB initiating or even responding in a manner that would warrant any type of "moderation". I cant even recall a "whine" much less a tirade. I'd love to hear from anyone who was on at the time...I recognize we all have our moments so I'll hold that %.02 out....but he's one of the few whos got the skillz without the mouth:aok

The first month away is the hardest. However, the uncontrollable shakes do subside after about week 2. Be wary of 'Dogfights' on the History channel as it causes flashbacks. :D

well it must have worked facl because on two pervious ocassions where I had verbal run ins with the BoPs I found myself squelched for one week, twice. I know your squad is populated with adolescents and that is probably part of the problem. ever since you had your talk with them all they do is send me endless .S storch messages. I have no doubt that it was your squad and I thank you for curbing that unnecessary behavior on their part.

leave 200 as is. Plan for childish behavior sometimes. Ignore it or squelch it. You have to give the other person permission to tick you off. Get above it.Enjoy the game on your terms. I expect to see you up when your addiction to AH sets back in.

As much as I wish you would stay TB, the other half of me says who needs 'em. Go get your life back and persue other hobbies. The reason why most people wont quit is because of the friendships that are made, but friends are gained and lost everyday. I figured out the easiest way to quit is don't pay 'em.

There's a magic number, and I think it has to come from different players. I don't think you get chatpwnd if you report yourself 5 or 10 times, but feel free to try it and let me know how that works. ;)

Chanell 200 has a purpose and I find it fun at times to chat with someone who you just had a fight with win or lose, or just some light verbal jabbing.... Nothing vulgar or rude all just in good fun..
I do at times find that members take things WAY too far about getting shot down, killed ho'd whatever...
Hey its a game and your supposed to have fun relax enjoy and dont take this so seriously...
TwinBoom I do not know you and have no insight (other than this thread) as to why this happend....
If using your VOX and text PRIVLEDGES is so important to you that you cant fly without them then take a break to reflect... come back when the sanction has ended and enjoy the game again..
Not to be rude or anything but this sounds an awful lot like "I'm taking my marbles and going home ".
Just take some time and reflect on what may have been the cause of this "sanction" and to decide if this (IMO Minor) sanction is worth quitting the game over....
If you decide it is no longer worth it to you to play I bid you a hearty <> and if you decide after reflection to return to the game see ya in the cartoon skies..

I report Jaxxo at least 3 times a night. He doesn't say anyything worth reporting, I just want Skuzzy to keep an eye on him.

I have never had ch 200 tuned, I dont care what the other countrys have to say about the way I kilt em. DETUNE 200, is my best free advice. And remember free advice, is worth exactly what ya paid for it.:confused:

I knew you would swallow that hook Storchie! We only have two in our squad who are under 18 and most are in the 30-60 range. I've never seen what you described except the time you did kill me and I saluted you in mid or early war long long ago and it was meant with respect for a job well done and it was a single salute and you did not respond. I know there was a person I saw in a copycat bop squad sending endless salutes to somebody (it definately wasn't you) and he caught a lot of heat from us true BOPS that were on for it, but it was months ago. The thing is that for the last six months you have been poking us in the eye in the message bases screaming that the BOPs cheat because they have multiple wings and we ruined the game and just about everything else that happens in Aces High that you don't like. One thing that is a sure bet is that if there is a thread in the message bases and a bop is there, you'll launch into a frenzy about us. Are you really that jealous of us? Inquiring minds wanna know. Just joking, we really don't frigging care.

200 is great for a little verbal jousting....most of the people now realise its all in good fun, as I never get vulgar or personaly insult them..just their lameness in a particular flying situation. I have a new dedicated ankle humper who likes to make jokes about pedophilia as a comeback for his lack of wit on 200 though...
