Title: North Houston, Texas Air Show
Post by: Yknurd on March 20, 2007, 12:48:34 PM
Conroe Courier Article (http://www.hcnonline.com/site/index.cfm?newsid=18093984&BRD=1574&PAG=461&dept_id=532207&rfi=8)

Not really an air show but a B-17, a B-24, and a B-25 will fly into the Lone Star Executive Airport (http://www.co.montgomery.tx.us/air/index.html) located north of Houston in Conore.

The B-25 apparently was part of Doolittle's raid.

Tours of the planes and flights available.

Holy cow.... only $425 to ride in any one. That sounds like a fair enough deal. Will have to check my honey do list for scheduling. One hour drive from my home.

do ya have a link for their tour?  wondering if or when they will hit San Antonio or Austin?  someplace just a little closer.

On the other hand they should have had their tour at the museum in Houston that I right now cant remember the name of.  My dad and I went there last year when we went to Houston for a bowling tournament.   I used to have the link but lost it.   old Houston airport terminal from the 30's  reopened as an aviation museum

Here's the link of the one I was thinking about

http://www.1940airterminal.org/

We went to Conroe last year I think, Youth State Bowling tournament was there.  After my dad and I finished in Houston we drove up to Conroe to pick up my son who was bowling in that tournament.

no the b-25 was not a doolittle raider.  Yes the "type" was used, but not that particular one.

Crewed her when she was still called "Hoosier Honey".

Sittin here in a Hotel in Bossier, LA.  When I get bored I go to Barksdale AFB and park at the end of the airfied and watch B52's and A10's land...

Awesome to look up and see a B52 just a hundred feet overhead, gear out...eardrum shattering.

Bet if I threw a rock I could ping one...but then again it would be hard to adapt in Leavenworth Fed Pen.

Heard they don't have History Channel..... go figure.

:)

Ok... what info. do you have, that proves that this particular B-25 is not?

Not to be received in a negative way, I’m just curious as to why it wasn’t & what fact you have to prove that it isn’t.

So Drill might know the history of the plane

also I think someone got sidetracked,  article doesnt say "this B-25" was a Dolittle Raider, it think the intention was just to say the B-25 was the bomber used...
