Title: Scared Bishops-New Movie
Post by: Sweet2th on March 20, 2007, 04:49:15 PM: Just about everytime i engage a P-38 it's this guy named Helbent & we usually have very good fights.So i wing up with Helbent for a couple flights on the rook side Sunday and were out on a fighter sweep when we come across a 109 MISSION.There was 9 Bf-109's a P-51 & a La7.The both of us enage this mission and believe it or not they all run away from us.I check the film later and found that some of those pilots were well known in the MA & i was shocked that 9-109's ran away from just 2.

That was a mission. A mission has a target and should be acomplished.
During their way , those 109's encountered both of you.
What did you expect? To be a total engagement? That was a normal decision : the leader kept both of you busy with those 2 planes and finaly with one plane. In this time they were able to reach their target.
They didn't run away from you, they had a mission to acomplish and they fooled you.

Ignoring higher, insignificant targets (especially if you have a bunch of noobs in your mission) seems perfectly reasonable.

I don't know about you but when myself & 8 of my friends are that high in 109's and we run into 2- 109's that are slightly higher, hat looks like a good fight to me.

This "come back and fight me" reminds me of the russian I-16 pilots calling the german 109 drivers (that zoomed and boomed them whenever they felt like), to a "fair fight with knives in no man's land".:rolleyes:
