I recently switched to a widescreen monitor, and in the higher resolution (1920 x 1200) I can adjust my head position back a bit to view my instrument panel, and appear to have normal length of travel, except in the F4U.
In those, I am "blocked" about half way back, and can only see about half of my instrument panel. The length of travel seems to be cut in half, and I only have the forward portion of it. This has made it very impractical for me to fly the F4.
At first, I thought it might be just an aspect of the field of view, but in the other planes I can slide back and have practically the same view I had with my regular aspect monitor, at least so far as the interior of the cockpit. Side to side and up/down travel seems to be normal.
