Hi All,
I'm trying to put together a suitable machine after a 4 year hiatus from AH, and after doing a bit (but probably not enough) research I ended up buying this one.
VGA JETWAY X19PR-ED-512M X1950PRO - Retail (Qty=1, Price=$194.99)
http://reviews.cnet.com/JetWay_Radeon_X1950PRO_X19PR_ED_512M_Video_Card/4505-3025_7-32327687.html
Thoughts, flames, standing ovations etc are appreciated! This is the first new vidcard I've purchased in six years so I don't know squat anymore and am just wondering if I made a good choice.
Thanks!

One of the better cards these days. Top of the line for ATI. Not as good as a Ge8800, but that's totally comparing apples to oranges. It's probably comparable to a 7900GS or maybe a 7900GT. Good choice.

The 1950 has been reviewed nicely for several months.
Its about the same power as the nVidia 7600GT/7800GS but has the edge. Its also a bit more expensive.
You did good.

Assuming your power supply and cooling system are up to the task, then you have a fine card purchased at a pretty good price.
Now get up there quick so I can shoot you down!

Thanks Vulcan! Good to see so many veterans still here. At the same time, it scares me. ;)
