Title: Upgrade???
Post by: cav58d on March 21, 2007, 06:49:52 PM
I am running a 2.00 ghz cpu (intel processor 4) with 788mb of RAM...My video card is damn near dead...I've been running a 128mb PCI card...With what I have, is it worth it to upgrade to a 256mc PCI card?  Will I see any real difference?

Smart man . . . worth listening to!  :aok

Moil I mean.  Rokit is a raving lunatic.

I finally just upgraded my vid card and RAM Monday.  I got the goods from Moil.  The improvement I have seen so far is massive.

My CPU is a little better than yours, so your results may vary.  But Moil will give you the straight story on what you can do.

So...how does one get in touch with Moil?

I normaly roll my own and get a decent computer for what I spend. I upgrade in stages. Never the whole thing at once. Video upgrade, motherboard and processor upgrade, so on.

Find "Moil" on the BBs and PM him.

Go to http://www.LTAR.org and leave him a private message there, or start a post in the tech forum.

the 'NORM' for puters today is 1gig ram...so yes upgrade to 1gig. not necessary for XP but necessary for Vista...

vid card you said is almost gone, so yes upgrade to 256 which again is pretty much the 'Norm', just bought an Ati Rad. x1950pro myself which works like a charm...
