But when I plug in just the joystick itself it will calibrate just fine. I have Win 98 2nd edition DX7a.. Any help is greatly appreciated Thank You

Hi there,
I had the exact same problem. The only solution is to go to a 2 joystick port controller card. TM has them as does CH Products. I just put my TM stick on the side and am using a CH pro stick with the TM pedals. It's a damn shame when TM can't even figure out how to make their product work as it was designed.
I did send my stick in. After over 8 weeks and a strongly worded E-Mail I finally got a replacement. It does the same thing. The techies at TM have no answer as to why it doesn't work.
Another player clued me into the "solution" for the TM wonder stick junk.
Mav
PS I heartily recomend CH products OVER any TM product.

Thank You for your help I will give it a try i was also told that if i used a usb converter for my joystick that it may work so i am going to try that also. Thank You for your input sir.

You'll be eating those words the end of this year... When TM releases their USB HOTAS 2000.
Also, the "fix" you suggested is NOT the only fix.
Volk, this may seem stupid, but did you follow the connection diagram that came with your stick/rudders?
It is important to get them plugged in correctly, I have the book somewhere, otherwise I'd tell you which goes into what.
On MY system, I have my stick plug into my rudder Y cable, Y cable to my throttle, and throttle to the PC.

Hi Antix - No reply is ###### believe me any is appreciated I only have a TM platinum j/s and rudder pedals no throttle yet. I did plug it in as you suggested from the beginning and still a no go. It is very frustrating I tell you (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif). Anyway will look into the gamecard as suggested by maverick ( thx ) but am open to any other suggestions anyone may have thank you again..
