Good to know our friends up north (even if it is quebec) havn't bowed down to the ROP completly. Muslim woman will have to remove veils in order to vote.
http://www.940news.com/local.php?news=5801
Muslim women will have to remove their face coverings if they want to vote in Monday's Quebec election.
Quebec's chief returning officer has reversed an earlier decision and is now telling Muslim women who wear a niqab to show their faces when they vote.
Facing threats from ordinary citizens that they would show up at polling stations wearing masks, Marcel Blanchet said in Quebec City today that voting day must proceed without incident.
Blanchet had to get two bodyguards as a result of his initial decision and Elections Quebec had received threatening phone calls and e-mails.
Quebec's three main political leaders had asked Blanchet to reverse the decision.
Blanchet says he's using special powers under electoral law to make the change.

This is kind of funny when you think about it. Ordinary citizens are threatening to show up in masks in protest.
What is wrong with wearing masks?
Ummm...you could be freaking ANYBODY that's why. You need to prove who you are at polling stations to be able to perform your right to vote. I don't care what piece of paper you have saying it's you.
The protestors obviously recognise this because they are THREATENING to show up in masks.
A niqab is effectively a mask.
:huh

I am very happy to hear that some citizens of Canada have the common sense and courage to say "enough of that crap". The pendulum has swung way to far over in peoples attitudes towards appeasing immigrants.
If they want to move to our countries, they should be working to appease us so we don't boot them out, or kick their rears.

Michael Jackson just changed his plans on moving to Canada. :)

Canada = Common Sense :huh Does not compute, Does not compute.
Must be that fuzzy math.

That pretty much sums up the myth about "multiculturalism", which is to say, you dont need to assimilate, just bring your homeland here.
It looks fine and lofty on paper, but in reality, its nonsense. We have our own laws, customs and holidays, official languages (we have two here), history, and a sense of who we are as a people. Thats what we should be expecting new citizens to embrace. They can be proud of their own heritage, but they are Canadian FIRST, not second, or third. If they cant do that, they can stay away.
