Title: millitary pilots

i'm trying to find some one who is a millitary pilot or was  i am trying to dicide what would be the best thing to major in in college to get into the field  if any one has any suggestions let me know

Why don't you call up your favorite college's recruitin office / ROTC office?

because i want it strait from a pilot and not a recruter trying to fill his qouta

Aside from the CG, your field of study doesnt really matter...It's your grades and everything else in between.

I've met guys who have had Masters Degrees in Aeronautical Science, however, i've also met guys who have had degrees in English and Exercise Science.  

If I were you, I would get a non aviation degree.  What if Military Aviation doesnt work out for you?  Okay, so you go civillian.  What if another 9/11 happens, and the industry goes to hell again?  Wouldn't it be nice to know you can get a salary paying job in another field?  lol.

Just get good grades.

By the way...If you talk to one of the Officers in charge of your schools ROTC, 99 out of 100 times he is going to tell you like it is.  Don't confuse the two.

Any engineering dregee is a good start, Aeronautical, Electrical, Mechanical, etc...

For better or for worse, it comes down to a good GPA.  At least in regards to AA.  However, its a double edged sword, because a 3.8 GPA in Bio doesn't qualify someone to pilot an airplane any more than dude with a 2.0.

Well, actually yea, it does qualify him or her more, but it doesnt mean he or she will be any better at it IMO

There are several F-16 pilots that frequently post at http://www.f-16.net

This subject has been talked about before.  If you are smart enough, have the diligence and perseverance, of course a degree in aeronautical engineering would be the best course.  

I had a good friend go through my colleges Air Force ROTC program while studying biology.  Other pilots have had degrees in history.
