BS The same thing was said over a decae ago. There wasn't a take over of trucking jobs them either when Mexican trucks were allowed to deliver their loads into the states.
The BS about the trucks not being safe is the same old crap as they are subject to the exact same laws US truckers have to comply with including equipment inspections.

The part of NAFTA that allowed free traffic of commercial trucking to and from Mexico was never implemented when it was passed around 1994. Why they are trying to do it now is beyond me.

Being "subject to" and being enforced are two different planets.
One brakers, half , if any trailer/cab lights, bald tires............I have seen em roll down the road unchecked/unstopped while I was getting checked out.

You know some folks won't ever be pleased no matter what is done. There are limited resources and not every truck can get stopped simultaneously with yours.

I've been to Mexico and there big 18 wheelers weren't that bad. There road signs are almost the same as ours. I don't think they will get confused. Its like illegal mexicans driving dump trucks in the U.S. No difference. They know the signs, there not that different.

Unless mexican fleets did some serious equiptment upgrading they won't make it to San Antonio before the DPS-DOT boys have them covered in red tags. Texas has cracked down HARD on trucks in the last 5 years.

I agree there are limited resources.................... ..........and it is most often used for a cop out. :)
No, not every truck is going to get stopped simultaneously, but when it is very blatant at check points that the Mex trucks are getting waved through while the U.S. trucks are being gone over with a fine tooth comb it will get under your hide in a hurry. Been there, done that.
