Yaks are fun.  Yak 3 was an air superiority fighter compared to the ground attack and interceptor we've got now.  

Ony possible problem with Yak 3, fuel settings of the arena.  IIRC, Yak 3 had even less range and fuel load than other Yaks, to help keep it light and nimble.

With 2X fuel setting in arenas, that may leave the Yak 3 with VERY short legs.

Not my first choice from the list, 3rd or 4th really, but I certainly would not mind seeing it win the vote.

We don't have a Ground Attack Yak. But the Yak-3 would be a great addition. I suspect we'll see the P-39 though.

Um....Yak 9T with big old 37mm isn't too bad at killing vehicles.  Not the intended role, but gets used that way.

I'd say that any plane capable of carrying a bomb makes a better Ground attack plane. The NS-37 hammergun is firing HE which really doesn't do it any favors in the role.  

Max, the Yak in Airwarrior was the Yak-9D
