Which one of these cards (v5, GF256DDR or Radeon32MBDDR) would you recommend for AH.
I think I might have the budget to buy one of these right now. There aren't so many other games that I play. My system is:
Duron600@900
Abit KT-7 (without RAID)
256MB Pc-100 RAM
Riva TNT (yes yes, an old one)
The resolution I would use would be about 1280*1024 w 16 or 32 colors. Thank you already for your great answers.

Tough one Tapsa...
Some ppl say V5's FSAA is the only way to go but with high resolutions you're going to use you can forget FSAA.
All those cards are fine. In lower resolutions Radeon is slower than other cards you mentioned but in higher res (1024*768 and up) it should be in same level with others. I'm using GF2MX card from Hercules and after I oc'd it I have quite nice framerates.
If I needed to buy a new card I would chose Radeon DDR (n.1400-1500mk) or GeForce2 (SDR 1600/DDR 1800mk).

Worth noting. I just finished testing the ATI Radeon card and it worked without flaw for AH.
Also note that the Radeon 32MB DDR card is clocked slower than the Radeon 64MB DDR card, so it is a bit slower than the 64MB card I have.
I have always come to expect problems with the video drivers from ATI, but I have to admit, they have done a fine job on the drivers for the Radeon card.
So far, I can't a game that does not work with it (AH, Half-Life, Q3, Q2, Battlezone, several of the Star Wars and Star Trek titles).
The Radeon card support FSAA, but it is an on or off affair which appears to turn off once your reach resolutions of 1280x1024 and above. Personally, I didn't like the performance tradeoff, but if you have a slower CPU, you can run at 640x480 w/FSAA and the appearance is that of a screeen resolution of 1280x1024 and will not be as demanding on the CPU.
At 800x600 and 1024x768, I found some anomalies with the FSAA I did not like. Some minor texture alignment issues were present. I am pretty picky about this and some people may not even notice it, but I did.
Please note, I am in the middle of benchmarking various video cards and have not gotten to the GeForce cards yet.
My overall impression of the ATI Radeon card: By far and away, this is the best product ATI has ever introduced. The drivers are rock solid, which is something I have never been able to say about all (and I mean all) other ATI products.
It will be a tad slower than the GeForce cards, but I put a high value on compatibilty and system stability, which the ATI card meets without any troubles.
I use ATI almost exclusively in my systems as I need to run Linux more than Windows and ATI cards have thebest support under Linux. The Radeon driver is about to be released for the Radeon card, but I have yet to see support for NVidia cards.
ATI has done a nice job of releasing development kits to the Linux community, and is the only major video card maker to do so.
I will be releasing the benchmark comparisons of the ATI and GeForce cards pretty soon and will post this to the AH community.
Hope this helps.

One note about the Radeon.
It is a good card, the only hold back for me is that ATI's Windows 2000 drivers SUCK. They either won't work or they are so slow it is not really playable.
If you plan to use Win2k, stay away from the ATI cards until they resolve this issue. If you plan to run Win98SE, the Radeons are great cards.

Lephturn,..have you tried the latest released drivers. I beleive that release was to address W2K and ME issues.
I will be testing this as well.

Not myself Skuzzy. I have a couple of buddies at work who have the card. If there are new ones that work in Win2k I'd love to hear about it.
Thanks again for all this testing Skuzzy!

Here's my 2 cents.
Right now Radeon 32 is great buy, less than $150 and works well at 1280x1024 32bit or even at 1600x1200. I concur that the Radeon Drivers for Win2000 have sucked big time, have not tried the new driver.
Some day you might want a Nvidia 20, when it is released and comes down in price. Get the radeon now, save bucks compared to the other cards, then make another purchase some day when the next big graphics card improvment comes available. I'd rather upgrade to 2nd best cards on a frequent basis than marry a best (and ultra-expensive) card and be stuck with it too long.
