The "K" key...
Has saved me from an auger on many an occasion.
-
That H key locks and un locks the mouse I cant tell you how long and how many times I would re log to "un jam " the mouse I believe I even emailed HTC asking why my mouse kept getting stuck.

what the heck does the k key do?

Using the Insert and Delete keys to zoom in and out on the map was a big one for me back in the day.

If you fly the 109's, you must learn the use of the K key, it gets your nose up when your compressing. You'll need to reset Combat Trim after it's use.

Amazing!! By locks do you mean the mouse freezes on you?
If this is true my time spent here is golden! It's only happened to me twice but both times it was during a snapshot. I had to hustle and re-Log before the bases were locked down.

Scotty, flying a P-38 I am surpirsed you don't know this one.
From what I understand it goes like this:
J = left rudder trim
L = right rudder trim
I = down aileron trim
K = up aileron trim
Netaces has a very good keyboard guide with all these commands
and more on it. Well worth a download!

Ah. I use the little wheels on my throttle for manual trim. When I fly the 38 I just set elevator trim full up and turn off auto trim when I start to compress.

Shift-F4, mentioned above. This is one I didn't know about until recently, and it makes a huge difference in finding ground-vehicle targets.
-
If you had this (http://www.chproducts.com/retail/mfp.html) you would not need to use keyboard commands anymore.

Being able to 'end sortie' after bailing out and not have to ride the chute down.

Lynx told me the other day when you want to check the status of a base, instead of clicking the base on the map, and then clicking status, you can hold shift and click on the base and its status will show.

This one is handy to help keep your formation bombers alive a little longer. Say your tail gun is out in one of your bombers. What to do? Well you don't have to just look at the approaching fighter 400 off your six with a disabled or ammo-less tail gun, and end up being shot down. Ctrl + 1, Ctrl + 2, Ctrl + 3 will toggle you to the other drones which most likely are enabled and full of ammo. The gunsight stays on target in the next bomber you jump to.

I have this (http://www.ymouse.com/xkeys/xkpro.php), been using it for three or four years. Pretty nice.
