Title: Rook Bomber Squadron

Is there such a thing?
If not, I might be inclined to start one.

Before I go through all the trouble of building
a website and developing download materials
I want to get an idea if such an idea would
be a welcome addition.

Any thoughts?

When we fly, were not married to any particular chess piece... generally for the underdog side. Which ,coincedently ,is sometimes Rook. Dont know if that qualifies.:)

I've definitely thought about it Turbo.
You guys have been around longer than I have (2002)!

You're on my radar if I can't whip these rooks into some
kind of shape but I'm about to give up on them.

Arena split and caps had wide-reaching effects I'm afraid.
Lots of guys left the game and still others went to other
countries.

If you want to fly REAL Bomber missions check the many threads here from HARM. :cool:

blkmgc is one of the Group Leaders on these missions along with trukk7. Do yourself a favor and check them out. :cool:

If you ever need another Box in your formation, give me a call. If I can I will jump in. I am really liking the Bombers a lot more these days.

I have fond memories of the pre-split LCA harnessing
the power of 53 sets of bombers for "world tour"
bomber missions.  Nothing like seeing 150+ bombers
together on the way to a target...even if it is with
a 9 frame rate.  

Since the split that kind of thing isn't possible
anymore...or I haven't seen one since.  Bummer.

The game is definitely migrating away from
strategic bomber missions and thats too bad... :(

I guess people just don't have the patience for them anymore...

pretty much no, rooks don't have a bomber squadron.

 rooks are all fighter jocks.

Delta I think alot of it has to do with lack of targets. You can bomb a town, but it gets boring unless a capture is in progress. You can bomb a field, but many times its unnecessary if town isnt dead. Plus hangers re-up way too quick to make it worth it. You can bomb base strats..but fighters can strafe them just as easy. Acks can be hit, but it takes so many passes it gets away from the feel of doing a bomb run. That leaves CVs which die too easily, and factories which amounts to no affect to anything.

   I bomb primarily to shoot down fighters when Im tired of flying fighters. The bombs are an extra.

   Hopefully the CT will provide a better bomber setup.
