Title: vert sync...on or off?

I have been experementing with the vertical sync.  I turned it off and my frame rates went UP.  I also turned the hertz up on my monitor.  But i have heard that having it off causes rubber bullets?  I didn't see any cases of rubber bullets but maybe...Any info on this?

Safest is to keep the vsync on. If you have a CRT monitor you should keep the refresh rate at 85hz or higher.

This will have no effect on the speed of the game. Just less strain on the eyes.
