If we get P-39D (American version) and Q (Russian version), will the Russian P-39Q be modeled based on Russian specs? From what I know the Russian P-39 spec was stripped of excess fat and luxury equipment. The russian model ran higher boost that allowed them to compete with 109s/190s.

Yes, you are right. When we, Russians, removed leather seats, wood finishing and home theatre P39 added 20 mph.
Another 10 we got when removed bathroom.

I think making the outboard gun pods optional on the Q would be enough.

did they take out the radio equipment like they did with the p40 N? Sure made a difference with the N, 800kg lighter if i remember right.

Just remember that the Americans flew the N and Q extensively, both in the MTO and SWPA. It was also flown by the RAAF, Free French and Italians.

P-40Ns were equipped with radios. All US fighters were fitted with radios.
