Title: BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH starting Aces High
Post by: Sancho on October 24, 2000, 02:53:00 PM
My brother just installed Aces High on his Win2k box.  It works fine offline, but it seems like every 3rd or 4th time he starts Aces High, he gets a hard lock up.  The screen starts to turn blue, as if to show a BSOD, but the screen is only the top half blue, bottom half black.  THis is a *hard* lock up requiring the CPU to be power cycled.  Any ideas what's going on?

Sancho,
I get blue screen of death approximately every other time I run AH. Running Win2000. This has only started happening since the last 2 releases.
Specifically, it's a "STOP" error on a blue screen. PAGE_FAULT_INNONPAGED_AREA. Address 0xA01048D8 base at 0xA0000000 datecode 38438ff7.
Strange, AH has been solid for me until now. No new software installed, same old hardware (Pentium 200mhz, 128M).

Dhog out.

I've been running AH on W2k since I became a customer in tour 1.  I've never seen a single hard lock up like that, in Aces High or not... neither had my bro until he tried Aces High.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

Your problem sounds exactly what he's experienceing though.

What are you guys running for hardware.  CPU, video, power supply etc.  What resolution are you running?

Also, it may be workth mucking with some of the video settings like Z buffer to see if it changes anything.
