I have just finished my free tour and i must say, this sim looks outstanding, absolutly first class platform. Can't wait to join up, but before i'll spent my 30 Bucks i have to figure out why i can't connect on ADSL. When i come in the Tower, 10 seconds after i disconnect with the message "cant find UDP, switched to TCP". Where do i go to change that? Has anybody here had the same problems?
Best regards

Are you sharing your DSL line with other computers on a homenetwork? This can cause the problem where UDP packets are not routed properly.
TCP packets will work fine.

Are you running a personal firewall? If so, you need to open it up for the UDP ports AH requires (between 2000 and 3000).

Hi, thanx for the quick reply. But, no, im not running other computers on a network, and in the personel firewall Zonealarm, there is no such thing as UDP. But it also dosn't work, even if i shut down the Zonealarm.
Anyway, i'll keep on looking for the problem, maybe something the servercompany can figure out..
Best regards

What sort of DSL termination have you got?
IE... is it a DSL PCI Card, a DSL USB Modem, or a DSL Router connecting to your PC via Ethernet?
If its a router, then assume its NAT'd, if its NAT'd, then thats why. If this is the case you should be able to configure port mapping on the unit, sometimes know as Pinholes, and map all UDP traffic to your PCs IP Address.

I ordered ADSL and its coming today. Modem I will have is propably Nokia M1122. The LAN-card I'm using is (cheap, about 15$ here ) Accton TX-1207 10/100Mb.
Is there any reason to buy 3-Com or Intel intranet card (about 60$) ?
Any tips for ADSL ?

just to correct the item above stating that theres no such thing as UDP in zonealarm firewall.
The std free version does of course control these ports BUT they are not configurable by the user, in other words they are blocked regardless.
I consider it was well worth it to buy the PRO version of zonealarm because it gives what we all really need and that is total control over every port.
You can set it to generally give access to any port you wish or specify a particular program to use specific ports and only when the program is in use.
I seem to remember you have to leave a tcp route open to AH as well as the udp btw.
Just opening UDP 2000-3000 did not cut it for me.

why is it i can get into H2H but not Main servers?
I have ADSL USB to a pci/usb card.the card has an open host controller...could this cause UDP problems? do i need a card with universal host controller?
