The less than 300 numbers produced is total for all He 219 variants from 1943 to 1945. The A-7 was produced from late 44 on, probably around 90 were produced.

No plane I know of has so much myths and fantasy circling around than the He 219, especially about the speed and max alt numbers. The fully equipped night fighters never recheached those fancy numbers you can read on the web, most of them derived from clean aircrafts, or few high power prototypes or special variants like He 219 A-6 with DB603L and GM-1 injection (intended to hunt mosquitos), which was the one reaching the often cited 400mph max speed.
