naval combat for the win!

Yanno, it's times like these that a :drool emoticon would come in handy.

Nice!

IS the map up now?
-
Here's where we Need Judy.
But this is about my favorite setup. (well, minus the hog but that's the price you pay).

I would like to participate...never done any AvA before, just the MA.

Setup update
We're gonna remove the F4U for the F6F as a sub for the F6F-3.
Also, the MAP? CORAL SEA!
It's GONNA BE AWWWEEESOME. :)

That sucks. Back to the mains for my hog fix.

Ya know, we COULD put a Cv with a hog squad on it. Could... it wouldn't be much to ask... all you have to do is aaaasskk an AvA staaaaffer... :)
Starts Midnight tonight EST, err EDT (eastern daylight time - since ya'll had us canucks change our daylight savings times three weeks sooner to increase shopping).
Anyways, this setup should be a riot. Lots of great wars - I'm thinking about setting the CV's in a similar setup to midway (too bad THAT terrain isn't ready yet) - around a 5-10 minute flight time to one another, in a patrol loop, non-controllable.
Since the low numbers of the AvA makes it risking leaving the milk runners and dweebs to control the fleets, the Admins will be Admirals for this setup. And yes, you can ask them to move a fleet. :)
-
Could we have a hog squad PWETTY PWEESE?? And maybe a few Zekes for target practice?
So...is ord going to be disabled? I'm thinking milk runners popping off fast CVs like firecrackers.

well, actually the change in the daylight savings time has 2 purposes, mainly it is done or has been done in the past to increase daytime hours so more work could be done.......
this year it was moved up sooner, mainly to conserve energy........

hogs pllllleaasssee!

If ya'll believe that, I got a great bridge in London I could sell ya. :D
It was done (according to Forbes and NYTimes) to encourage evening spending. The cost of implementing the change technology wise was around 8 BILLION dollars which will take approximately 17 years to recoup the so-called savings for Americans. It does nothing for Canadians who's dark hours are really not impacted by the change due to our northern location.
But we're getting off topic! NAVY BABY!

[offtopic] Ya, instead of turning the light on at night when I get home, I turn it on in the morning when I get up. Huge energy savings there  [/offtopic]
Back on topic.
Yaaaaaay, boats :)

Good, because the F4Us started USN carrier service in 1944 (late war)

I may actually go there to get shot down instead of the MA's.
LOL I just went there and there was nobody. I find that odd, yet it is 6:22 left coast time....ehh maybe later

They were indeed.
Thought that the Zeke was going to be overwhelmed in this setup.
I no longer think that.

A technical issue combined with a social issue. On this map, when sunk, carriers spawn very, very far away from each other, and take a long time to get back into the combat area. That's the technical issue.
The social issue is the people who will come into the arena, get the enemy carriers within easy range of their own fleet (or base) by switching sides, taking command, moving the fleet within range, then switching back and sinking them. (Probably these are the same people who, later in life, will journey to ranches where they can shoot tethered buffalo.)
Fork's solution is to eliminate the ability of players to move the fleets. Obviously this can only solve part of the problem, but it's why things are as they are. So give it some cooperation, and practice your divebombing and torpedo attacks on the cruisers and destroyers that abound.
