Got a new mobo, with on-board sound, can't get RW to work no matter what. If i uncheck "mute" on micrphone in windows volume control, I can hear my voice, yet I can't hear my voice thru RW. Somebody plz help, my squadron is crying to hear my lovely voice again.

It's been my experience that onboard sound doesn't work very well at the best of times, also it usually puts more of a load on your CPU than using a sound card. IMHO you're probably better off sticking in a SB16 and disabling onboard sound.

I agree with Mogi. I have never had any good things happen in systems that had onboard sound and people trying to run programs like RW, BattleCom or TeamSound.
Now with that out of the way have you looked for a BIOS update for the board? There might be an issue with the onboard sound that a bios update could cure.

Hblair, onboard sound is generally (one exception - nForce) driven by a software driver and puts a large load on the CPU to use it. You should get yourself a separate soundcard. A soundblaster live Value is not very expensive.

I bought a mb w/ onboard sound (hardware.) RW would work in recieve only mode, unless I turned off surround sound. However If I turn on surround sound AFTER I open RW, It works great. Might not work for you but try turning off rear channel/surround sound if you have it.
