I am trying to get the patch right now, 11:16 Central time...
It goes like its going to download, but nothing comes down? Anyone else having this problem?
Sure would like to play, but my load is outdated and the new one doesn't come down!
-
Seriously, anyone having trouble patching tonite? Or is it just me...
(and all you guys who already patched 2 hours ago, just hush up eh, I have a real problem here)
-
D/L it from the web-site.
-
If I do that I have to back up all my sounds and gunsites and such... I'd rather have the patch work like its supposed to.

Try rebooting your machine man.
Are you on dialup? If so you are going to want to set it to download the hard way as it will be more stable.
At first it took a while to kick in, like about 10 or 20 seconds. But once it did it took about 8 mins. I'm on 5m connection.

hey if this keeps happening to you later and after a reboot, try shutting down your firewall and anti virus. If it still doesn't work try plugging directly into your dsl modem after renewing the ip address you should be ok. If not then it's routing issues on their or your isp's end. However, I would look at your computer first to ensure it's not you and you alone...you app may be fubard,...
or your patcher may be fubard too.
So to review:
-Try a reboot
then
-Shut down firewall/antivirus
then
-bypass router
then
-try long patch method or reinstall aces high as patcher may be fubard
then
-talk to isp or hitech support.
Let me know what finally resolves the issue.

Thanks Sincraft...
Sad bit is that I am one of the guys who knows all that stuff... I assuming the server is just mad right now, I'll try again in the morning.
Its no biggy, I'm not playing seriously till Sunday.. I just wanted to check the patch.

Open Windows explorer, create a new folder or two somewhere on your HD, drag that stuff into it and once the DL is done and installed drag the stuff back over.
Still a little fuss but not as much as a back-up.

Your an a**. I was just trying to help. Some people don't know the easy way to do that stuff.
-
Don't take it personal man... But honestly, I said... that I don't want to back up and restore...
Then you came in and said "Dude, you could back up and restore! IT'S GONNA ROCK"
I'm not getting in you, I'm just saying that you didn't read what I already said.
Sorry if you took it personally.

You can get the patch from the web site, no need to download the full install. From Pyro's post:
You can grab it through the auto-updater or if you can download the patch here if you have 2.09 Patch 5 already installed:

Thanks Panz.

Seems to be working for me (as of 11 pm Pacific time).

I had same prob w/auto DL, just get it from site, sounds will remain, no need to back up as I have seen.

I didn't have time to read the whole thread; hope I'm not repeating.
If you go to the home page and Right-Click>Save-As... the link that ISN'T the readme, you will get the exact same file you do from the "automatic" updater.
What the autoupdater does is downloads the patch file and sticks it in AH's folder in Program Files and runs it. If you've ever patched before, you can go into AHII's folder and find all of the patch EXEs from the past just sitting there doing nothing. You can delete all of the EXE files in there other than aceshigh.exe and ahfilm.exe if you want.
