I can swap files back and forth on each of my computers from either computer. I can share the printer. I have the ports set for both I.P. address'. I got the game on one computer to run on the other computer from the other computer and vice versa at the same time, but I can't play a lan game cause the "hoster" doesn't show up in the "select LAN game" field. If only I knew why? Anyone? :) <

My girlfriend wanted to "shoot me down" for reasons known only to her.
Not as if I dont make time for her I never play when shes around but she wanted to compete.
I managed to host and connect via my router.
all firewalls off??
if you can share files AH shouldnt be a problem.
anyway maybe she is a one time only "HO" shot but she gave up after a couple of minutes lol

Make sure you're attempting to host the LAN game on the computer that has the ports forwarded. Although it's LAN, it could still be a port issue.

I did turn the firewalls off on both machines and I have tried hosting from both machines. I can't host internet games either, but I think that is an ISP problem. I am assuming AH LAN games have nothing to do with the internet. Thanks for trying to help.

LAN games run on the Local Area Network connection. Your internet can be out (Can't connect to websites) and you can still run LAN games. So your issue is rather peculiar.

The game was loaded on both machines before I networked them. Would uninstalling and re-installing the game on both machines help?

Wait, if one machine is already waiting to find the LAN Game before it was started (Host began session). The other computer will never see the game appear in the LAN games list.
So, make sure you start the game before entering the LAN Games Lobby.
