Title: connection is fine, but game is slow to load

This problem just started occurring. I will connect into the game fine, once I enter the arena things slow down to a crawl. I will sit on the map at the only green base - all others are red bish bases (could be a conspiracy??). After some time the bases will revert to the correct country, then radar bars and dots will show up, then eventually text begins to appear in the buffer. This can take up to ten minutes.
My ping times to www.hitechcreations.com (http://www.hitechcreations.com)  are about 160ms, tracert does not show any significant bottlenecks between hops.

Abit KT7A-Raid (KT133A chipset)
AMD Duron 800MHz
256MB PC133 CAS2 mem (Crucial)
Guillemot/Hercules GeForce2 GTS Pro 64mb - latest Detonator drivers
SBLive X-Gamer
USR Courier v.Everything analog modem - 48k dialup speed

Again, this problem only started a couple of days ago, so I am reluctant to blame chipset, OS, etc.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
