Title: New XP installation on my PC ... anti-virus/spyware reccomendations?
Post by: Coshy on April 12, 2007, 07:53:57 PM
I just did a fresh install of XP on my 'gaming' PC. This was done in conjunction with a HDD install, so it is completely free of any virus or spyware.

I don't have my gaming desk completed yet, so this computer is sitting idle. However I want to get some suggestions for anti-virus/spyware tools.

This computer is connected through a Linksys WRT54-GS wireless router, but not wirelessly, it is cabled in.

I'm 99% sure I have the router firewalled, so my question is do I NEED anti-virus software?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

AVG has a fair free version available.

Very configurable, low system overhead, and it has been doing a good job on my systems for several years now. Be aware you do get what you pay for.

Let me know if you need a link.
