I watched THIS (http://www.zenoswarbirdvideos.com/realg2/Artillery220100.ram) over at Zeno's. Not sure if it has been posted before. But I figured since we are getting the B-25 might as well watch it. It is slow going at first and the planes are not in the air until around the 18 min mark. But it was intresting to see the 75MMs in action. I thought it was worth the watch.

Hi Mate
I would hope they design the B25A/B to fly off the carriers and the B25H for the big gun, plenty of .50's, with rocks and bombs.

Forget the idea of B25s taking off cvs it WILL NOT HAPPEN!!!!. Wonder how many people voted for the B25 just for that reason. 1 mission doesnt make it worth it. :furious  :furious

I agree just give us the big gun.

Hehe if they do that they can just use the sound from the Sherman for the gun sound.

Hi Mates
Other than the A/B, will probably give us the C with field mods for .50's in the nose.
The carrier takeoff would be a one way ride in most cases and the A/B would be easy to shoot down. Actually if they give us the C, it will be pretty easy to shoot down too.
Let's see what they come up with. I am a buff driver. Voted for the A26. But very old timer in WB driving the H too. A20 is my ride now. Hoping for the H now too.
Cheers

Quote from Pyro: "I'd like to see the C, H, and J in that order. Whether all of those can make the next version will depend on how fast it goes to make the shapes."
I can't think of any plane in the game that has field modifications represented. I don't think they want to open up that particular can of worms.
I gather from many post-vote comments, there are still many players looking forward to spawning their B-25 from a carrier in war arenas. Many others are looking for a manually loaded, 75mm X 20 rds armed B-25 to be the uber-GV-killer of the game.

But the reload time will more more in line with a T-34. The 75mm was manually loaded, and the loader could not do that very well if the plane was pulling G's (maneuvering) --- not sure if that detail could be modeled.
It will be interesting.

Why? In level flight or in a shallow dive loading should not be any harder then loading a gun on the move in a tank, over terrain. I swear you guys and your silly theories. They crack me up sometimes. :lol

I would not expect it to be a problem in a shallow dive or level flight. I would expect it to be a problem if pulling 3 to 5 G's in a maneuver -- which, BTW, tanks are not known to do all that often.
The loader had to un-secure a round from the rack, place it in the loading chute, operate the ram to run it into the breach, close the breach, and inform the pilot that a round was ready.
I would also expect B-25 pilots attacking GV's in game to either be; coming in on a shallow dive and thus being a big, slow easy target, or maneuvering as much as they could in a Mitchell on the run in thus technically not being able to reload the 75mm.
I'm wondering how some players expect the 75mm to actually be modeled in the game. I see folks quick to jump on anyone who says anything against the B-25, but nothing expounding the virtues of what the actual plane could reasonably do as it could be modeled in the game.

Go and try the big guns on the cruiser. They have the delay while the guy reloads and he calls up ready or something.

Ah yes I see Major is from Tulsa like me. Finally some okies really close to me.
I would like to see three different versions of the B-25. C,H, and J.
I don't know much about the B-25 as in Armament defensive, but didn't the J have a nose gunner, top gunner, side gunners, and a tail gunner in a kinda looking fighter cockpit shape?
-
Hi Mate
The J had both configurations. Glass nose with a bombardier and a couple of guns or the 8 gun nose with two package guns on either side just below the cockpit. Had waist and tail gunners as well as top gunner. Including top gunner and package guns, could bring 12 .50's to bear on targets. Could be configured for rockets as well as bombs.
This would be very nice. However, I sure did love that old H model way back in WB. We really could bust up a lot of real estate and with skip bombs, we could really put the hurt on ships.
Where is my old buddy Natedog when I need him. Wish he was still here, would run all this by him for his comments.
Cheers

....Yeah, theres always some guy going overboard on the negative...like the loading time is more like a t34...dude comon....
lever is pulled, casing is ejected/breach is opend, new round inserted in chamber, co-pilot/loader smacks pilot on the shoulder, BAM repeat....
pay attention because it took you longer to read about than it took those kids to do......
yeah and imposing a limit on G's/Attitude= firing/notfiring the 75mm, doesnt seem a bad idea either:aok

I have been lobbying for a B-25J with optional noses in the hangar so the b25J could retain its identity and a b25H could be added later since it would require a new flight model and gun physics and 3d modeling while the b25J straffer would be closer to the glass nosed J. bothe the glass nose and straffer b25J's were factory direct variants without field modifications. this would make it possible for historically accurate skins on the b25J and the player could switch the nose fo the plane from solid gun nose to bombardiers greenhouse the way the 190a8 switches its cannons (though with a bit more complex coding it would seem.)
still dunno if its a good idea or not though I like the look of the straffer b25J and its excellent MG armament..with its 8 nose 50 cal and 4 pod 50s and forward firing top turret(14 forward firing 50 cal) over the Pug nosed b25H with its 4 nose 50 cal and 75mm and two pod 50s and top turret (only 8 total forward firing 50 cal) though the H model 75mm could take out around 10 buildings if it only takes two rounds a piece.
I have volunteered to create the default skin for whichever b25 model HTC decided to add to the game though so even though I have my favorites what ever ends up in the works I will be mroe than happy to do the very best skin I can possibly make for it.
I love this plane :)

Hi Mate
Good idea for the J. Would still like to have the H as the devestator.
Great skin opportunities for the B25. Was flown by just about every allied air force, including the free french. The C, H, and J had some really fancy skins.
I too like this old bird.

It would be cool if the reload sound for the 75mm on the 25 had a voice yelling 'Ready!' right before the gun was ready.

That "big gun" will be virtually useless. Especially inasmuch as most players couldn't hit their backsides with a seat cushion. Against big, soft targets, it may have some value, but no such thing exists in Aces High.
I'd rather have the 12 gun MG package in the nose of the B-25J.
My regards,
Widewing
