Title: Sun
Post by: PandE on April 13, 2007, 05:17:07 PM
I would like to see the sun a little less bright in the game. The sun seems to be the same brightness whether it is mid-day, sunrise, or sunset. Also, shouldn't the sun be a little more red and orange color at sunrise and sunset, plus dimmer?

I think I have to recommend revising brightness level of the sun. This may be fine for young people, but starting at age 40 and beyound the change in brightness has some nasty affects on our ability to see dark conditions. I've added a quick link for more information about us old farts as we age. Lets face it, a lot of (old farts) folks in here are over the age of 40.

I'd like to see the sun and moon fixed so that the horizon isn't at eye-level regardless of your altitude. It's silly watching the sun "rise" at 15,000ft.

The sun DOES rise at 15k -- just earlier than it does on the ground.

I still remember one middle of the night flight I got to see the sunrise twice...once in the air, and later on the ground.

That'd be fine if it wasn't clearing the "horizon" at eye level while at 15k.

In addition to any tweaking of heavenly orbs, though I like the "Bad Moon Rising" I think it is a little too big. Someone typed in the text buffer "I can see Armstrong's footprints."

The current sky looks uniformly light blue behind the sun and behind the moon when both are visible. For greater realism the sky should gradiate, getting darker as you look toward the moon, not black, just darker blue.

Another related request would be if you are blinded by the sun, you should still be able to read your clipboard.

I agree but adds a bit of realism though.Gamma helps to a degree but not allways effective in some cases.
