Title: Mines, factories, and other stuff
Post by: maproy99 on April 13, 2007, 09:02:18 PM
If you shoot down a plane sould that person be able to get in a new one right away? Planes and vehicals should be made someplace and that place gets metal from the mines. If a mine is captured the factouies have no more ore to make a certain metal. This means the enemy can produce no more. When they run out they can't do anything. Then the other side wins. Another option to win is to capture the enemy headcouters.

:aok

Alos factories can make like 1 tank, or aircraft every 5 finents. Also each side should have a budget to pay for the mining. This budget would increese ovfer time but making things would use some money. Mines would run out of ore and the enemy would have to fund for more mines or factories. :O

Or, if HTC makes a stock, you can fund the airplanes :p   I think that would be fairly complex, and whoever has better bombers will win, getting rid of fiters.

If you pay $15 a month, it makes the factories go into overtime and you get unlimited aircraft, gv's, etc.
Title: Spread the Targets - On the right track
Post by: fjaloma on May 11, 2007, 10:27:54 PM
I'd like to see an emphisis on more strategic targets. For example:

Rail yards - Most supplies traveled on rail. Create a circle or railways in a given region. It's one job to defend it and another to disrupt it.

Supply convoys - Generally we only see them at the base or a barge, but never a large convoy sneaking across country or a large formation of ships making its way up and down the coast to supply regions.

Submarine Pens - Granted we don't have submarines, but these were a necessary target that impacted shipping and supplies.

Aircraft factories, Tank factories - We all know that the 8th Air Force focused on Messerschmit and Focke Wulf factories to name a few.  I would increase the importance of this.

Add more of these and increase the weight of importance for victory. Doing so, in my opinion, will increase the strategic thinking and flow of the game and get away from the furball ho's out there.

How about we stop trying to make this into a RTS or some strategy game and let us fly what we want when we want. When I die I want to fly again not wait ten minutes for the miners to mine and the factory workers to make me a new plane and a train to deliver it. I want to fly not wait in the tower. This is a WWII combat sim not WWII Tycoon. You guys might have a better time plays some "Sims" game.

I believe once upon a very long time ago, that is the way it was. If you were shot down you had to wait a few minutes before you could take off again.  But too many people complained that they were paying to play this game, not sit on their thumbs.

I tend to agree.  When AKAK shoots me down I don't want to keep him waiting for 10 minutes before I climb back up so he can shoot me down again.

:D

You sir are correct, it should be grammAr not Er, however I did mention that I had just returned home from a night of drinking. One mistake that I'll contribute to my alcohol induced state of mind. There is no excuse for the threads originator for his lack or GRAMMAR though.

I wold never ask that they change the game, but perhaps a seperate arena.  Perhaps they take AvA and add the strategy element there.  Allow a airfield's fule supply to  become  depleted.  Or their Ammo supply.  an arena that presented a more realistic environment.  Perhpas limited aircraft types depending on the condition of factories.  Don't change the MA arenas, just add one arena that was much more realistic.  Aircraft that required warm up periods.  that could not be run at full throttle for the entire flight,  Aircraft that required cowl flaps to be used for engine cooling.

Strat targets that actually could impact the outcome of the game.

I'd love to see a bigger impact from Strats.

Disco here, I don't endorse making anyone sit around because they got shot down or have to wait until supplies arrive (no more then they do now). I just would like to see the strats have more impact on the winning of a game. For example you might have to take cities, factories ship/rail yards etc. down by at least 75%. Let each country know what they need to do to win the map and give a status on where their own strats are so they know what to defend.

It seems to me that his would serve to employ a wide range of tactics. GV assaults that make a difference. Tank town is fun, but it serves no purpose. Some of us feel it's a waste of too many resourses. So encourage a large number of drivers to attack something. Bombing campaigns (w/ escorts) that mean something, strong fighter defense around weakend or last standing strats to keep the others from winning, jabo runs to take out air defenses and tie up fighters that might be needed to up and hit the incoming buffs.

My 2 cents.

I was under the distict impression strat targets arre operational.

ie City is down to 50% would effect all factories whether they were hit or not, by cutting production rate down to 50%. or maybe 75 because the factory is 100% up.

If anyone knows please do tell. Cause I have read the online help, but a further explaination would be nice.

Cheers

I see no effect whatsoever from destroyed strats. Although fun to make a mission for, if they were too important it would cripple a side and make people switch to the winning side.

What Id prefer to see are plane and tank factories. The plane chosen that the factory produces is changed at random, every hour. These would be all the perked and 5.0 ENY planes. The vehicle factory would produce the Tiger. If a factory is destroyed, it stays down for 60 minutes and the plane it was currently generating is unavailable until the factory re-opens.

Also..unlike the HQ, there wouldnt be a 163 base right next door to it.
