Wow, just downloaded new patch, installed and upped from a smoking CV.
70-80 fps, stuttering like mad?
Crossed the sea to the land, stuttering, over a base, stuttering??
FPS's still in high 70's -90's?
All I have done is install the new patch.
Never had a problem like this before.
Mind you can't say I'm all that impressed with new terrain, seems a bit 2D from air, and no concept of depth/altitude.
Just my opinion though.
Anyone had similar probs?
1GB RAM, everything pre-loaded.
15 processes running, no AV, just basic windows processes and FW.
Any help greatly appreciated.

I foudn that updating my vid drivers and bumbing up the detail a notch helped with the 2Dish effect. sliding up detail on either slider or both to all the way didnt improve it significantly, so a notch was sufficiant
It will make it more 3d like but the terrain itself still lacks depth considerably.
As for the stutters. You can try deleting your cache in AH. and if that doesnt work what I find works best is MANUALLY deleting the HTC folder and doing a fresh install of the game.
I emphasise manually because I have found for some reason using uninstall doesnt do it as well as manually deleting.
I know this probably doesnt make any sense.
But I find this is what works best to get rid of the stutters that I almost always get with a new version or patch

I get stutters after each major patch. After running a defrag program, it's always fixed.

ty lusche that info helped me

I think the cache building every new version does could be part of your problem. One of the guys suggested a defrag and its smoothed out considerably for me. And Im just running 40 FPS with a nVidia 6200
