Title: Maprooms
Post by: Simaril on April 14, 2007, 10:36:02 AM
As others have noted, the new tiles are short on contrast -- for now. That makes low alt flying an adventure, since the sameness makes it very tough to tell how close you are to the ground, especially out of the corner of your eye when in combat.

But there's another significant gameplay effect that can be very frustrating - the maproom image is exactly the same color as the surrounding green. Since hills are hard to pick out, the only way to see the maproom clearly is to catch the slit's tan color. Without that, its almost invisible in the sea of green.

Suggest shading the color a bit more off background so it is more visible.

then study the maps. Vbase maprooms are normally on the SW corner of the base if not there and maps are turned around then its SE corner but count on it being on the SW corner of the map. Ports the map room is on the west side of the base just past the AMMO BUNKERS. all Air Fields the map room is located in the center of town. watch out for the GREEN WATER now you have all the locations of the maprooms

STUDY MAPS!!! As a bomber pilot I have a printed list of maps (BTW this reminds me I need to update!) of ALL kinds of targets, Strategic and Tactical, in a folder next to my computer. I check it religeously before reaching my IP. I suggest you do the same. It makes planning an assault much easier.
