I downloaded & installed AHSKVIEW2083.EXE but it only lets me see what I presume are the default skins.
Then when I load AHII to play it "caches the skins" as if I'm running it for the first time.
Is there a new skin viewer out there? I find it best just to launch AH in offline mode & look at the skins there.
Any suggestions? Some of these skins are really awesome & I'd like to take a closer look.

I agree the cacheing thing is really annoying. What I ended up doing was installing a second example of Aces High. I use one version for online play and one for skinning.
An advantage of this is that you can set skin textures to 1024 in the skinning Aces High and 512 or whatever for online play.

You can only see the default skins in the skin viewer, or skins that you have downloaded (from ah-skins.com or any other page) and/or created yourself. You won't be able to view the custom skins already in-game.
The cache rebuild is a bug we've had for a while. The skin viewer file needs to be updated to fix this. Nothing we can do about it.
If you don't want to rebuild your cache, you can always simply view a skin offline in Aces High. Anything the film viewer shows you, you can also see in Aces High itself. The viewer just lets you view it from easier angles.
