The Moon should be rotated with 180 dgr :
The real Moon :

the AH Moon :

Is it rising or setting?
-
In order to get the moon right you'd have to pinpoint the exact location on earth of which ever arena you are in. The AH moon as represented now seems to come from an southern hemisphere viewer.....mate.
-
I don't think (but am not sure) that you'd ever see it upside down. The moon is in an orbit where the same side always faces the earth, and it doesn't wobble or flip around. Even if you were on the southern hemisphere, I think you'd see it "rightside up".
But, not 100% sure.
-
Think again, Krusty. :)
It's got nothing to do with how the Moon orbits or how it faces us; it's got everything to do with how you are standing on this great big ball called Earth.
Your "up" may not be my "up".

ahhhhhh
Well then we all must be in S. Africa or Argentina, in this game!! :P

One certain way to check...
[ warning lousy humor ahead ]
... flush the toilet in the Officers Latrine and see which way the water spins.

Moon is too large and too contrasting to be real. It looks like you see it through binoculars.

Can't do it, fuzeman- no more animated water.

Hey hey hey - this is Earth?
If so then there's some serious sheep rustling going on - ALL the sheep are branded 'W'.
Call the police.
Uh oh... :D
-
Also, IMHO, the night sky should likely be darker than the craters and "seas" on moon ;)
-
Anyone recognise any of the constellations?
-
The moon IS upside down.
It's setting in the west and rises in the East, the moon is upside down. :)

I do hope you were just trying to confuse people. Either that or it's time to go back to school :) .....
The the moon DOES rise in the east and it sets in the west each day due to Earth’s spin.
The earth's orbit around the sun however is from west to east, as is the moon's orbit around the earth.
And the moon does appear "upside down" to people in the southern hemisphere. Of course that's from a northerner's perspective. :)
-
So we have the moon - but has anyone seen Venus, Mars or Jupiter recently?
...and what about astrologers then. How do they cope in AH? Huh? Huh?
-
If everyone turns their back to face the North and Looks directly UP whenever the moon is directly above them, the orientation will be the same everywhere on earth. Do not overthink is concept.

Hmmm but what if you are standing at the South Pole? You will be facing north no matter which way you turn. This of course should make it easy for someone to "turn(s) their back to face the North" because their back will be 'facing" north no matter which they face their back, or if they should want to choose to, face their face!
The problem I see arising here is where you want them to look "directly up", because as we all know at the South Pole if you want to find the moon you have to look down. Looking up for the moon would only have you viewing your feet surely?
Can the moon ever be directly above (or below for the Antarcticans) if you live outside of the tropics? Penguins with enquiring minds need to know.
-
Penguins are cool, leave them outta this!!!!!
Aside from penguins and Polar Bears, turning your back to the North and looking up, the moon is upside down, according to the thread starters information.
Oh and NHawk, that was a typo, I meant the Sun when I said "it's". I typed more but ended up erasing a few lines in that post.
-
The solution here is to perk the moon......
because it obviously Pwn's all of you.
:D

It is too large, by a factor of over 10. If they made it correct size it would be a tiny boring circle (owing to the rather large 90 degree normal view for AH).
-
I know. But they can make it looks real.

I emptied my 30mm into it and it was still flying! Must be a bug.
