Title: Joystick Spiking
Post by: Sarnak on April 12, 2001, 06:49:00 PM
Ok here is the problem, in Aces High I can not get the plane to stay on auto-level or auto-angle for more than a few seconds and the planes seem to control horribly always unstable. I fly Warbirds a lot and do not have any problems close to this.
When I check my joystick it shows it jittering (spiking) in the analyze box. I have increased the damping and recalibrated numerous times to no avail.  I am using CH Product Pro Peddles and F-16 Fighter Stick. The Fighter Stick is brand new out of the box. I just replaced my Thrustmaster F-16 FLCS, which had been demonstrating the same problems. The FLCS has on broken button and is 6 years old (tear in eye, love that stick).

You may also already know this, in the "Controller ID tab of the Windows Joystick utility there is a box that should be unchecked next to "Poll with interupts enabled". This can cause a lot of that spiking even on a new stick.
