Title: I can't do anything =p
Post by: Lebel14 on April 17, 2007, 11:38:58 AM
I am still on my trial, and I can't talk, not Idea how to send a text msg. can't map keys.

Some people seem to be able to talk via in game voice coms too...

I am utterly confused

I am a WWIIOL player and would like to give this a go, however I can't seem to do anything

The majority of all questions can be solved by reading the help files online here (on the main page) or by simply going to your key mapping in-game and reading what is mapped to what.

well typing in game is easy by pressing the (?) key then type and hit enter...
in game voice is the F12 key and or t....F12 is range (pople have to be in range of 25miles or so)(1 grid on the map) T is if your in a squad and its team chat
as for maping keys you may want to heve a Sr member in game to help you after you have gotten the 1st 2 things down.
there is also a help page link right on the start up of the game (b4 you enter an arena)
hope this helps

trainers.hitechcreations.com/ (http://trainers.hitechcreations.com/) might be worth a visit.

It seems that sound avice would be to download for free, read the instructions, and test stuff out offline or H2H even better, before activating the 2-week timer. Too late to help you out but suggest it to your friends for when they try it out.

Welcome to AH.

Welcome to AH.

Like Krusty said, open up the keymapper screen from the clipboard. Just by looking at what certain things do, can teach you alot. Its gonna take some time to learn, best way is a trainer. Look at the training forum.

Suggestion.

Go to the help files and print out a copy of all the keyboard commands.

You should end up with something like 3 pages. Tape them side by side
Then you can fold them into thirds.

Thats what I did for the first few months I played.
I would keep it out and unfolded in a cinvienient location to I could veiw them at a glance if I needed to.
Then I could fold them up into one nice neat package and set them off to the side when I wasnt playing and needed the space

I spent close to 3 hours reading the online help at the trainers page before I started my 2 weeks, and it still wasn't enough.  This game is more of a simulator than a game.

The fact that it's hard, was the draw for me.   Trust me though, once you are in, it's hard to leave....  I suggest you fly offline for a while then go to the training arena and ask for help.  There is often folks that will get you started, even if they aren't a trainer.

Welcome to your new addiction :)

TA is good. After that, get in a squad that takes newbies and is willing to teach. Fly with them for a while and if you feel you dont fit in or they dont fit you, move to another one.

I am sure I will do fine with the actual flying, I am normaly very high on the WWIIOL top 100 stats for fighter pilots and I do very well in IL2 and PF online.

I am just confused with the GUI in this game =/

I thought WWIIOL's was bad lol

Thx for the help I will try to find a trainer
