Do you have what it takes to be Aces High's King of the Hill?
ALL fliers are invited to Aces High's version of a "cage match"
Concept:
1. All players fly the same plane type
2. Fight to the death
3. Winner of the round chooses the next plane
4. Repeat until someone wins three rounds
KOTH is a no holds barred free-for-all that puts your skills to the test, and will really elevate your pulse!
Event Information: King of the Hill
Type: OPEN, walk ons are welcome.
When: 9:00pm EDT (-5Z)
Where: Special Events Arena
Hosting CM: WMLute

If I ever come on to the bbs hidin' behind a diff. account name and troll, feel free to chime in in any fashion you choose.
Tonight's KOTH is gonna be a blast!
I'm thinking "NIGHTIME" but i'm not sure yet. I'll ask those flying.
Might allow the winner of each round to pick the time of day.

Friend was not "teh greatest" fighter, but we really would like to know, why we got muteed, when we cheered our fried? (Ari)
Ari - - - Not bad or curse word???
But I know some really bad words...
-
what did you or your friend say?
-
If he got muted he broke a rule, and he more than likely was WARNED before he was MUTED......
prob was cheering on country channel or on channel 101 VOX where all could hear........
got to play by the rules.........very simple yea?
-
Your friend wasn't muted for cheering on his friend he was muted i believe because he was warned multiple times not to talk on vox 101 while other players where flying and to keep vox on range channel only while in the tower to let the people still flying to concentrate. I could be wrong though Im sure lute will confirm it for us once he checks the boards.
-
I will assume we are talking about EuroBoy then?
I told him over and over and over and over to keep it on range channel?
He felt that he didn't have to I guess.
He got .muted.
Da' Rules...

This is NOT a chatroom, keep the chatter to a minimum.
Excessive talkers to people inflight will be muted.
That is the FIRST thing in the rules. Just copy and pasted it from the KOTH MOTD we use.
If the hosting CM says to keep it on range when you are in the tower so as to not distract the players still fighting, it would probablyl be a good idea to do just that.

Yes. Must tell him to listen and read all channels. There might be some beer involved tho.

Browsing this I recalled several years ago being one of the last two in a KoTH round, and the hot stick of the day was yapping on channel 2 with color commentary, and laying money on the other guy. It pissed me off and broke my concentration on the fight. It was not against the rules back then.
"Dead guys" in the tower shouldn't be doing anything that affects those still flying. (eg. giving check 6's, ID'ing other players still up, giving damage or status reports, color commentary, play-by-play, cheerleading, PM harassing, ect.) That kind of stuff is either in your ear or in your face. Its not like being out on the playing field with all that stuff being just white noise from the stands. Anyone not a CM or in competition has no business influencing those who are.

Our just dont play in koth is a good answer to your problem.

I heard him say how drunk he was and I cut him some slack because of that.
I was training another CM to run Sat. KOTH last night and during the setup I had told him that it is rare for me to .mute anybody during a King of the Hill. It basically ruins the event for that player and I recall saying i've almost never done it. (I can only think of a handfull i've .muted)
No hard feelings on my end, and I hope none on ya'lls.
