Title: 50 cal balistics

could 50cals from a B17 do critical damage to a 262 from 2k+ out?  

i made a pass on B17s and when i was 2k out prepareing to attack again he smokes oone of my engines, then gets me on fire, then shoots wing/tail off.  (not sure)

BUG???
