An "airborne" M3 antitank gun during testing at New River, North Carolina—1940

In January 1937 the US Army Ordnance Department began development of an American weapon similar to the PaK 35/36. Design and testing took place for almost two years. In October 1938 the new 37mm weapon was accepted into service as the M3 antitank gun. Production began the following month and the first guns were delivered early in 1940.

Ok, but only as a towed gun, top speed 2/3 of jeeps normal top speed. Takes 1 min to deploy and setup, 30 sec to take down. During setup, its totally undefended, and a single round of any kind will destroy it.
Limit ammo to 100 rounds of 37mm ammo.
Humble is that a 37mm mount directly on jeep? Was it produced in WWII? Did it see combat? If so where? How much ammo did it carry? Top speed?

We have a towed 37mm AT gun here. It is really simple to take off the pintle and have ready to fire... maybe 20 secs if you are huffing it.
As for putting a mounted 37mm on a jeep, could you imagine the whines!

How effective would that 37mm gun be?
I only ask because it was from 1937, and most of the tanks in this game came much much later, when the armor was quite thicker than it was in 1937.
I'm curious how much penetration it would have.

What year is the gun from the M8?
I have used that to punch through the rear armour of a Sherman, Panzer IV, and the T-34....
I'd also assume that it would have no probs on an Osti. Other Jeeps and the M-16 are no contest, and shouldn't be to a .50

The M6 Fargo was used in Tunisia pretty extensively (they built over 5,000 in less then 6 months). It carried 80 rounds of 37mm (same as the M8)....

The pic is a jeep of some kind with a similiar configuration to the Fargo. Not certain what ammo capacity but you could model the current jeep like the fargo (since pic is clearly a combat vehicle of same era/campaign). Be neat to have a jeep with a bit more pop....

HE he he... I like.
It won't be implemented in AHII, IMHO. The gun is practically useless except hitting the rear of Shermans and Panzer IVs, or maybe tracking tanks.
We already have the M-8 with the 37mm AT/HE capability, and it has more armor(relativly speaking), and the same speed as a Jeep.

I'd love to see some sort of towed AT gun available in the game. But I would think that it would have to be larger than 37mm. With the lack of concealment a gun would have to be able to engage it's target @ range or it would be easily spotted before the tank got within effective range. I don't know.. a 88mm might be overkill but something that would be effective at least at medium ranges.

that looks more like an old power wagon

It was quite powerful for a 37mm - much more so than the German 37mm tank/anti-tank gun, and comparable with the British 2 pounder: it would penetrate 46mm armour plate at 500 yards, at a striking angle of 30 degrees.
The pic below (from the Ammunition Photo Gallery on my website) shows the 37x223R US ammo next to some others in use in 1942 tank guns.
