Title: "Jaggies"
Post by: Mak333 on April 23, 2007, 10:48:18 AM
I put this term in quotes, because I do not believe it should be a term used today relating to graphics.

Many people these days, mainly the young ones are expressing their feelings towards low resolution graphics and no anti-aliasing features.

If you choose to Wikipedia the term "Jaggies" it will give you a definition similar to this:

An informal term to describe jagged edges on a display.  This happens due to low resolution as I said before, and the lack of anti-aliasing.

Does anyone use this noobish term here?

Am I the only one who is embarrassed by the fact that people actually say "Jaggies" and not jagged edges or lines?

The term just seems so childish to me...

Noobish...? I dunno about that. They used that term back in the '80s before antialiasing was mainstream... there was even a piece of software you could buy called "Jaggies Are Gone".

Though, I know what you mean about terms that just seem out of place in this day and age...  "clicker" is the one I can't stand.
